It is with a heavy heart that I put up this thread. On Thursday, Josh Jones' daughter Libby succumbed to leukemia and passed on. Josh, an ONSC member since 2009 and close friends with many club members, has fought hard for her in the past years and started the LibStrong effort to help raise funds to develop a cure.

A celebration of Libby's life will be held at the Church at Charlotte, at 11:00am on Monday, May 12, 2014. The address is 2500 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.

ONSC will be collecting donations from members for one week, at which point we will add $400 of club funds and make a donation to the Carolinas Healthcare Foundation ATTN: Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and BMT. You can contribute through the club's PayPal account, which is oldenorthstate@hotmail.com.

Cheryl and I attended the service. While we got there almost 10 minutes before it started, we were directed to an "overflow" room off to the side which filled up before it began. I can say that there wasn't a dry eye in the place.
 
ditto.... John, David, Andrea and myself arrived 30 minutes before the start and were lucky to get a seat. Very moving service
 
Donations sent. Hate we couldn't make the service - Monday's are a bitch for me at work. Still can't get my head around this and how strong Josh and family have to be right now....

Donation sent. I don't remember meeting Josh and family, but Josh, I hope you will come out and join us for Logan's Run and the Christmas party. This group will help you through this difficult time and I am so sorry.

Donation sent. Thanks so much to the ONSC members who were able to attend the services. I'm sure it was appreciated by Josh and his family in this trying time. My deepest condolences go out to them.
 
I don't get on Mud much anymore and just noticed this thread. It may already be common knowledge but in case it isn't, for the the CLT area folks, there is a blood drive this coming Monday (5/19) in Libby's honor if anyone is interested in participating:

I've been requested to hold the donation for a day to wait for a couple of people to send $$ in. Once I get those donations together, then we'll be sending money off. Right now we're around $800 in donations from both the club and individual donations. Thank you everyone.
 
Just confirmed with Allen. Individual donations came to $670, and club donations are $400, totaling $1070 going to charity in Libby's name.
