Did I consider tire size? Of course not!
20 sounds good to me!

I was under the impression that the 70-series, excluding the 75 with dual tanks, had 90 liter tanks? That would be about 23.7 US gallons, unless the MWB had a different tank to the LWB.20.5 gallon tank roughly, Todd.
Your IP is still in the stock setting so if you turn the fuel up a bit does inclines will be a lot more pleasant , in regards to the mpg have you considered the difference between the oem tire size (about 30') and the larger tire size you are running now ? Around 20 mpg seems more common for these , I hope the title made it to you by now .

Ah, makes sense. I wonder if there is a design issue with the venting or pickup in the tank that makes the last few gallons unusable? I've been tempted to put a 5 gallon can in the back and drive mine till it runs out just so I know how far I can go and how much it will take to refill, the most I've ever put in at the pump is just over 19 gallons.I have never been able to put more than 20 gallons in. Even with a new tank.
...
If this thing has something like a 20 gallon fuel tank, ...
I have never been able to put more than 20 gallons in. Even with a new tank.
Interesting. Filled mine up from E last night and it took 15 gallons. Same thing happened on the way home from Ox. That said, when I filled up in Jackson with 3/4 tank, I was able to put in 5 gallons, thus the extrapolation that it's a 20 gallon tank. So at some point as the tank empties, the gauge becomes inaccurate. The tank in my 70 holds slightly more that 23 gallons. It is likely that your 73 has the same tank.
Also for your consideration, my gauge shows E with more than 5 gallons remaining. Likely that each truck has its own personality regarding how the gauges read, but they might have similarities too.
Yes, definitely interestingInteresting. Filled mine up from E last night and it took 15 gallons. Same thing happened on the way home from Ox. 700 or so miles later, I pulled the wheels/tires off to check the spacers and the suspension. Spacers haven’t budged so that’s good. All the u-bolts but one took some tightening, some more than others but nothing was loose.
I’m including a photo because I’m aware that no one will believe me.
I also replaced the control board in the National Luna fridge. Apparently there’s a run of bad parts and of course, Equipt took care of things quickly and professionally. They even included a handy dandy Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion chart that sticks to the fridge. Now if I only had the same for K/MPH on the speedo. If I can keep up with half the cars, I figure I’m probably OK.
Also I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that having now really been up close and personal with the truck, Nolen’s work is just so sweet. Attention to every single detail. No corner cut. Just damned perfection.
Now back to your regularly scheduled more interesting programming.
