My oldest son just informed me I need to drive my truck to work tomorrow so he can take the LX450 to Snoqualmie. There isn't a kid in my house that would pick school over skiing.I "rented" a U-Joint tool from the Zone today. I'm hoping to tackle the U-Joints this week, but tomorrow my son and I are shirking responsibilities and heading up for openers at Mt. Baker. My daughter (12) informed us she was unwilling to skip school to go skiing, to which my son (8) replied that "I will skip as much school as possible to go skiing dad..." Noted. So I have some future ski truancy to manage in the years ahead. Remind me not to invest too heavily in his college education in a mountain town in 10 years (which is also the approximate time frame of completing my baselining).
good grief! I just realized that my kids will ask to borrow my Land Cruiser…My oldest son just informed me I need to drive my truck to work tomorrow so he can take the LX450 to Snoqualmie. There isn't a kid in my house that would pick school over skiing.
That was also my initial surprise! I’ll be interested to see if I notice an improvement. I’m assuming I will if 50% of my injectors were dribbling, and the other were fair. The pattern is more concerning than the flow. A poor pattern = poor atomization = poor combustion.
Low power. Poor economy.

I have nothing to really compare it with, with Land Cruisers. I’m also glad I’ve changed the fuel filter back to Toyota too. I’ve never used any additives in my fuel, but perhaps it warrants some more research. Previous history is a total mystery.
While I generally accept this, as it’s how so many things are manufactured and branded these days, I’m hoping a Denso made in Japan, will be higher quality than a no brand one made in China. However your point remains, it is a box that hold a filter medium. I’m sure the filters have been discussed and put under a microscope (possibly quite literally) someplace on the forum. Certainly that is true for oil filters.Depending on the filter previously it may not make a difference.
There are several companies that make all the filters in the world. Often times a box is a box and a filter is a filter. There are differences, but just because it says Toyota doesn't mean it's better.
Like I said, some filters are better. But just because the one that came off wasn't OEM doesn't mean it's an issue. I'd have zero issues running a quality wix or napa filter. While I generally accept this, as it’s how so many things are manufactured and branded these days, I’m hoping a Denso made in Japan, will be higher quality than a no brand one made in China. Yikes! For your 80? That’s steep. I generally have used this approach with previous vehicles, certainly with my 87 Toyota pickup, but so far I haven’t regretted buying the Toyota branded item. That being said, some of it feels like righting wrongs committed by PO neglect, and probably more emotional…it’s like I’m trying to woo my Toyota to love me despite its rough past!Like I said, some filters are better. My oil filters are like $35 bucks so I'm always looking for a little bargain without sacrificing quality.

Or maybe I’ve just drunk too much ‘mud koolaid…
I had no idea they were such a premium for that engine. Are all parts for the 1hd-t equally expensive? That’s a reality check for my swap dreams…For the 1hd-t.
Thankfully the po gave me a box of them

Injectors
I’m feeling very glad I decided to have my injectors cleaned. The numbers are looking a lot better. Seems like they were really struggling to do their job based on how their cc/minute rate was. Hopefully they hold up.

Blasphemy!!Depending on the filter previously it may not make a difference.

This might be of help and hope for your future swap....I have a diesel swap I'm working on and I get a lot of parts from partsouq.com. 1hdt filter is $17 and it takes roughly 4 days to get here.I had no idea they were such a premium for that engine. I don't know why, but I hate ordering s*** online. I'll pay extra to have it in my hand when I buy it.This might be of help and hope for your future swap....I have a diesel swap I'm working on and I get a lot of parts from partsouq.com. 1hdt filter is $17 and it takes roughly 4 days to get here.
