Probably meant a front 'locker' and no....a part time kit would not affect that at all.

Absolutely, we are still taking orders for them weekly. The last part of the kit that is missing is due is in production now, we expect existing back-orders to be shipping in the next ~2 weeks if all goes as planned. I don't know how many back-orders we have but do call and place an order if you would like to get a kit as we'll ship in the order you place your order. Thanks!
any abs / brake issues running this kit in full open unlocked 2wd configuration or any additional modifications needed?

Nope & nope.
Unlike the 8x/450, the 100/470 get their ABS speed signal off of the wheel hub mounted tone ring. So even with the CV's are not spinning, you've got all the same intel.
We have a kit for the 8x/450 that moves that tone ring to the back of the wheel hub for those that want to leave ABS operational but again, non-issue on the 100/470

I was one of the first people to buy this kit. I run it hard. It’s great. RWD is nice to have. Nice to know if you blow up your diff it’s that much easier to get home. Get it. Plus you’ll get the “Jeeps are s***” sticker!!
Been running PT in our LX470 for over 5 years and now with 200K still running all original axles and boots. If you dont live in snow country you want this mod.

Agree. I was replacing CVs once a year by the end there. This set has lasted much better than the last. Spinning these guys at 80 down the highway for thousands of miles with 35” tires and hard wheeling adds up….
Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but did you guys ever start selling just the unlockable hubs? Still interested in a pair without the full standalone kit.
They do. But you'll have to also cut signal to your VSC control—without the wheel speed signal, the truck won't drive more than 5 or 10 mph. There's a thread on doing just that, maybe you already have.

I couldn't find a hub for the 100 when I looked through their site earlier today. I hadn't heard about the VSC issue either - these trucks have the ABS ring on the hub I believe, so should still get their signal even if the front driveline isn't turning. I definitely wouldn't be interested if it interferes with VSC.
I'm mostly interested to have these just to make limping home a bit easier if I have do damage my front end somehow. They'd spend the majority of their life locked.
Now that you mention it...you might be right. Mine's a little different (80/SAS swap, where the tone rings are on the birfields) so you might be OK. Mine definitely loses its mind if the hubs are unlocked.
The VSC cut is super easy. A single cut and a couple of spade connectors (plus a short wire to ground)—I did it that way in anticipation of the swap so I could simply cut signal it if ever needed.

If you only run the hubs, then you have to lock your center diff to move anyways. I could see someone doing the spool but not the hubs, but why would you do just the hubs? There's no benefit, you'd still have to drop your front driveshaft. Just do the whole thing IMO. Still probably in my top 3 mods.
I'm moving to snow shortly and quite want to keep my awd. My only thought with this is it's a cheap way to allow the fun end to spin with damage and stay sealed against dirt/grime/mud/etc.
I'd still have to pull the front shaft and lock the center diff, but I woudln't need to remove the drive flanges. I'd pull the front shaft, unlock the hubs, lock the center diff, and go.
You also can't do the spool and no hubs - that would take you to full time 4WD and would bind up your driveline good the first time you took it on pavement.

I am a little confused as to how this conversion actually works. Could someone explain? I get it that you have to get out and lock the hubs to engage the 4wd, but what is this pushing of button people mention? I have a 2005 Tundra with push button 4wd, which is really nice. No getting out, just reach up, push the button and boom, 4wd. Once you are out of slippery stuff, push again and 2wd. Has anyone done a conversion that allows you to only have to push a button to engage 4wd, or is this even possible?

It'll behave just like your 40 series. The spool gets rid of the center differential and the two choices (button) are locked (4wd) or unlocked (2wd/RWD). You can certainly keep the front hubs locked, as many people do all winter.
Thinking about this, maybe my understanding is incorrect here, but spools normally lock both sides of a differential together.
It sounds like in this case, just installing the spool would make your center diff lock just engage or disengage the front driveshaft? So you could do the spool and leave the drive flanges in place and all that would happen is your front axle would be driven by the wheels rather than the t-case?
