@romeo72oo here’s some highlights from when I did this:

Here’s the thread with the amp info:

You’ll need 5-channel (4 speakers + sub) and the ability to handle 2 & 4 ohm speakers (factory are 2ohm, most aftermarket 4ohm). I went with a Kenwood that fit well under seat once nav dvd & amp where removed.

I am waiting on the screen to come in. But I went ahead and bought 2 way component triton speakers Front, 6.5” in the back, and DVC 8” 600W sub for the rear. I am building a custom enclosure to go behind the panel. On the other side is where the 5CH 1kW amp will go. Went ahead and ordered the reverse camera since it was just 10 bucks more. Will get pictures of progress and pictures later when I have more time. Off to the next Zoom call lol.

I'd love to see pics/how to on your custom enclosure (if doing it yourself). I ordered an 8" sub but have yet to tackle that install.

I bought the 360 degree cameras with it and so far they are working, so it’s not the original back up camera. I think the unit is just a head and runs into the OEM amp. I certainly didn’t buy an amp. The audio sounds clearer to me than it did when I was connecting my iPhone with an aftermarket Bluetooth module. Everything seems to work; radio, climate, defrosters. This said, I can’t find a screen that gives me the outside temp. I also can’t find the screen that has the tire pressure monitor readings. I got external sensors with the unit. Of course, the OEM tire pressure light on the dash is still blinking, as it has been for most of the 11 years I’ve owned the truck! If I were less lazy, I’d put a piece of duct tape over it. We were skiing most of the day so I haven’t explored it a lot. I’ll poke around the functions more over the next couple of days. I used Ways and my music library while driving today and it was easy and very handy. I stopped using the OEM NAV system years ago since it was such a pain in the neck. Here’s a pic of the unit in the dash.

Walt, you should be able to get the Temp to show on the display by doing this:

I have a PX6 from 2019 and this was a common issues with the lower 4 buttons.

I tried to get it fixed with Rhino and I recommend you avoid them.

Anywho... I learned to live without those button. The display works and everything else besides the 4 buttons work.

dear everyone just installed a px6 from phoenix on my 2004 lx 470 everything works great except the AC climate control it is all gray menu and when you try to use it nothings work.
can you guide me on these?
d
- do i have to setup something into the car
- do i have to plug something or a link between the black AC ecu and the tesla unit?

Check your connections and see if your settings are on CRUISER 100 HI.

I have installed a PX6 in my 2004 LX470 and the rear speakers are not working only the fronts. The balance settings have been adjusted and I still cannot get any sound out of anything but the two fronts. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Anyone else get an airbag light when installing in an 06? I have solved all of the AC problems and the blower not working. This seems to be the last thing before it’s ready.

All 4 of mine work just fine and the sub.. I am using a 5 channel amp though not the factory. The factory amp may have not normal inputs.. I know the front component come in 3 way then the rear is another pair.

I had similar error when I try to replace the passenger side airbag warning light. for some reason 06 and 07 this warning light is not compatible with other years.

connect to TechStream you can read the detail about that warning.

After more than a year of working flawlessly I am now having a some issues with the unit. The 2 most apparent are:
1. AM/FM radio sound cuts out usually 1 - 10 minutes after starting the car. Once the sound cuts the screen works, the app appears to work and can still scan channels, just no sound out of the system. I can switch to Bluetooth and get or and if I turn off the car the radio will work again. I am guessing it is an app/software issue.
2. The unit doesn't respect the sleep timer setting. I've tried changing to the largest value but the unit "long" starts just about every startup.

I've tried rebooting and pulling power to reset but no success there. I've reached out to Phoenix and still waiting on reply.

Can anyone tell me if the Sergey firmware upgrade uses the same default apps, specifically AM/FM radio?

Afternoon - First time posting.

thanks for this thread, has been super helpful, could never have got my reverse camera working without it!

Only helpful thing I can add, is I got a USB dual socket the size of the smoke lighter, and replaced it with that to deal with the USB cable - works really well and saves the usb connection being in the glove box.

My question is, i have all the speakers and the amp working, but when I adjust the front speakers, it also adjusts the rear. Its like the rears are wired to the fronts. What is the best way to deal with this? I did wonder if I needed to manually wire the speakers up rather than through the loom. Can't find much info or anyone who has had this problem.

I would like to fit new speakers, but I presume the easiest way to get over this issue is to fit an aftermarket amp?

apart from that, very pleased with the unit. I ordered it in the uk from Icebox auto, who were very helpful. I could have got it from china direct, which is what Icebox do to save a few ££ but I wanted the support of someone in the uk should I need it!.

forgot to add - only annoying thing mine does, is its not in MPG, and the fuel usage is the wrong way down, the less throttle you use, the more fuel it says you are burning, and the harder you boot it, the more fuel efficient it is.

Sounds like a dream!

Thought others might want to see what I did this week. Replaced the display and all ac controls with a Tesla Tablet style Android radio from Phoenix automotive radio. I like it a lot. I plug in my iPhone and use CarPlay to control music, make calls, navigate, etc. Controls all ventilation, integrated with backup camera and steering wheel controls. Cost about $1300 total, but is pretty sweet having 2019 electronics capabilities in an 06 Cruiser. View attachment 2082589
That looks amazing. I have an 06 that I just bought and the stock console is driving me crazy.

Is this the unit you bought?

Phoenix Auto got back to me with a Firmware update. I have learned quite a few things about updating these units. For those that are going to update, the file name is very important. In the Phoenix Auto youtube vid the file name is set to px6-9_format.zip on the USB drive. The file they sent me was titled px6-9_reset.zip. I went by what the video showed and changed the file name to match the one on the video, px6-9_format.zip and updated. What I learned by trial and error is this, the _format will wipe the unit and start over while the _reset will keep settings during the update.

I was able to update the firmware but lost all my settings. I set the Install Set to LC100HI and the protocol to BNR with AC, is this what everyone else is using?

My other current issue is that the display is now upside down... I've reached out to Phoenix and am waiting to hear back. I have tried the five finger calibration and long pressing on the MCU window but no luck (not my vid but this is where I am upside down screen).

Anyone know how to flip the display on these? Couple mentions in this thread but no solution posted.
