Pretty much is the FE just without the round headlights. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they make the round ones at least optional in future model years.80 Vibes;
I really think the LC trim is the sweet spot over the FE.
I've only poked around a little bit, but here are my initial thoughts.As someone with your background and intimate knowledge of the 200 beef, how does the 250 compare where it matters (frame/suspension/drivetrain)?
Have you ever driven the 2016+ 200 series? The LED lights are comparable to that hue and brightness. It’s a white light for sure, but not annoying to my eye.This is a bit of a geeky/pedantic question (but boy are we in the appropriate thread for it) for the new owners like @ridgway and @turbo8 @Zill @doanlaw etc;
can you comment on the performance/output of the new LED headlights across both models? Is the temp relatively warm (~5300K) and do enjoy the driving experience? Really hope Toyota hasn't stuck these 250's with those harsh Tesla-style LED's. They suck for long night roadtrips (eye fatigue) and are pretty blinding to others.
You can swap the fog lights over to yellow (with a simple button press) instead of white if the white light bothers you. I suspect I will be doing that in snow drivings conditions.
Very cool! Looks like something out of the Toyota NA Marketing Department
Is that a FE or a 1958? I see the colored blocks on the front, but not the roof rack.
FE, they removed the rack in another post.Is that a FE or a 1958? I see the colored blocks on the front, but not the roof rack.
Can’t comment to the lights other than it’s the first factory Toyota LED’s i’ve owned and seem plenty adequate but the 4 banger is starting to grow on me, driving it back to back with 200 it feels every bit as torquey as the 200, maybe more so in the sub 2k range…and that whistle sounds really coolThis is a bit of a geeky/pedantic question (but boy are we in the appropriate thread for it) for the new owners like @ridgway and @turbo8 @Zill @doanlaw etc;

You are not imagining it, it is real. The 2.4 iForce Max powertrain makes 465 lb.-ft @ 1700rpm. The 3UR 5.7L makes 401 lb.-ft @ 3600rpm.Can’t comment to the lights other than it’s the first factory Toyota LED’s i’ve owned and seem plenty adequate but the 4 banger is starting to grow on me, driving it back to back with 200 it feels every bit as torquey as the 200, maybe more so in the sub 2k range…and that whistle sounds really cool![]()
Also, the 250 is close to a 1000lbs lighter than the 200 series.You are not imagining it, it is real. The 2.4 iForce Max powertrain makes 465 lb.-ft @ 1700rpm. The 3UR 5.7L makes 401 lb.-ft @ 3600rpm.
That 2.4 makes big block levels of torque, basically similar torque at a lower RPM than my 8.1L Vortec in my K2500 Surburban. With the benefit of way more gears too.
