100% , really puts the LC in a weird spot. I’m guessing the 4R limited with 2.4T will be about the same price as 1958, TRD OR with hybrid will probably slightly undercut the 1958 as well. TRD Pro/Trailhunter Hybrid will be mid-high 60k im guessing.^I imagine they published the off road angles for the Trailhunter and/or TRD Pro (whichever is better). I agree it seems like LC250 is immediately back in a weird spot before it's even on sale. The only way it makes sense to me is if the 4Runner trim(s) that have the rear locker and sway disconnect are either only available with part time 4wd or more expensive than an LC somehow.
Yes I think it puts the LC250 in a weird spot pricing wise the 1958 being likely on the higher end of 4R but with cloth seats.Do you think this will cannibalise LC250 sales?
I don't see how it won't?
The 250 will sell better than the 200 in the US but that isn't difficult.

Toyota sold 110,000 4Runners in the US in 2023. I'm sure the 4Runner will continue to greatly outsell the LC. A lot more folks in the US are familiar with the 4Runner nameplate than the Land Cruiser. Us LC enthusiasts are not representative of the typical US car buyer.Do you think this will cannibalise LC250 sales?

Yup.The 250 will sell better than the 200 in the US but that isn't difficult.

If those are correct - I'm not in love with the design. Looks like a truck they had to configure into an SUV on a budget to me. The design language doesn't work for me. I hope it's just a render and they did a better job in real life. The hood is too long. The windshield is too sloped and roughly 40% of the vehicle length is wasted by that ungainly front design. So the passenger compartment looks like it got smaller despite the longer wheelbase. Overall, to me, it sure looks like a big step back in design. Classic CALTY output. If this is real - I guess the LC250 has more chance of success than I thought it would.![]()

It seems to me that no matter what Toyota does with the LC that it will offend LC enthusiasts.you know, I low key want another revolutionary Land Cruiser.
Something to make a splash and offend all current land cruiser owners, like the 100 series did.
Power. I'd have happily paid double that for an extra 50hp/200 ftlb on my 4runner.I don’t see the hybrid as a big a benefit as it should/could be since the fuel economy is only marginally better, but probably a $4k option.
Specifically low-end torque right off the line. It also helps get the rig moving while the engine starts when the start/stop system is enabled.Power. I'd have happily paid double that for an extra 50hp/200 ftlb on my 4runner.
Rumors of LX 600 overtrail coming out soon BTW.
