We are a family club. Most if not all our events focus around us men and a few women. But I know you are the main backbone to our club. Without your support we would not be in the position we are today. That means a lot and I thank you for it. I would like to have some input from you on what we could do to get you more involved. Is there anything you would like to do? Ideas on new events, structure on meetings, etc…

My only thoughts I had is to at least have one ladies night a year. I’d also like to start collecting e-mail address from you so I can add them to the mailing list. Family memberships include all family members and I’d like to keep everyone informed on club activities. If you can think of some things feel free to PM me or e-mail me or call me. marshall@828rugs.com 864-414-0563

Thank You.

My wifes response.

Some ideas:
A teaching wrenching party. The only things I know about Land Cruisers is what I ask you, and that really isn't much.
Perhaps t-shirts that single us out as Upstate Cruiser Chicks
We could start a support network for Cruiser wives where we bitch about our husband's obsessions.
Maybe while y'all are in your meeting, we could plan our own meetings - I'm sure somebody sells avon or candles.
If we ever get organized, we could plan fund-raising events for charities
While you guys are on your weekend trips, we could plan get-togethers to get ourselves out of the house.

I'd be willing to give some of these efforts my energy if you get a large enough interest from the other ladies.

Well Marshall, I have another "Ladies" thing to announce...so here's a good spot.

MUD has a new forum...the Girls Garage <---this is a link

It is a TECH forum, so no chit chat about your husbands rig or whining about all the time he spends on it. It's intended to be a flame free area to ask questions, help others, and learn.

Please join us sometime!

From talking with my wife recently she would be game for any/all of those ideas.

I dunno...on the trips she can make it, we're fighting over the driver's seat. Not really, but she does like to wheel and camp and wrench (next time, she's doin her own brakes!). I love her. Not much whining 'cept for the time I spend online.

Haven't talked to Linda yet... but this one stuck out as one she'd be very interested in.

And... she'd be interested in most of the other non-wheeling / wrenching suggestions too.

I would be happy to sponsor a group session with all of your wives while you go out and wheel :)

OOP! I said the loud part soft and the soft part loud again! hehehe

How ironic is that.

I have had a few ironic moments lately where I have posted something and at the same time someone has sent me something related to the same thing.

By sponser... you mean pay for the manicures?

sure.... ;)

Becca, what an incredible list of great ideas! Being the Cruiser Head in our family and also the 'girl' puts me in the midst of this issue. I commend Marshall for broaching the subject because I think it's critical to our membership and the direction in which we move forward as a club.

Please realize my ideas may be a little different because I don't have young children to be considered in the equation. I'm able to take off to GSMTR for five days with my four-legged children, 'camp' in the rolling house, enjoy meeting new people and taking a trail ride, if offered. The pups can be left alone for six hours. This is not possible with two-leggers unless you want DSS to be called in to investigate .

It's wonderful that you are willing to contribute effort towards bringing the 'other half' of the members together. I would be happy to be a part of this. Home making parties are not my forte', nor is the Girl's Wrenching Group on MUD. :princess: I'm destined to be stuck in the MUD (no woman's land). The fact remains, I love Land Cruisers and I love people. Maybe there is a happy medium for me here somewhere??

The people I have met in UC are dedicated Toyota lovers, very interesting and a lot of fun. I look forward to upcoming events.

My wife's response 1 minute ago "lets get together and drink!"

You in CC???

You should already know the answer to that question (see pic) !!!

Let's just be sure there are no Doritos involved!!

One more.

Hi Marshall, this is Mary, Jere's wife, the only request that I can think of is if you could have a couple functions earlier in the day so that we could attend, we have a two things to consider when we think about coming. We live in Columbia, and we have a 2 year old little girl, so some of the functions you hold at 7 p.m. are really unrealistic for us to do in a day trip. I know we are not your average member but maybe we could think about it.

Thanks,
Mary Peterson

First ladies get together???

Would anyone be interested in getting together at my husband's HAMOM on June 23rd around 11 or so? Potential activities include a short hike at Table Rock or movie followed by 'blender fun.' Anyone is welcome to come earlier. I'm going running first thing in the morning and won't be ready until around 11. I'll also post in the June 23rd HAMOM thread.
