I was kidding at -2%. She's a runner and is cold if temp goes below 72*

This is a budget build, so I'm calling in all my markers and making deals wherever I can.
Need anything from me? Lets trade! It's a win win deal.
I felt like ass today and had a late start. Dropped the head off at Deschutes Machine shop. Great guy and a wealth of information as he told me I was missing all the buckets that sit on the valves, FAWK! Sent a text to my part guy, $333 for them!!! So I went to the shop that had taken it apart. Holy crap! The tech had them all, marked and in a box!!! I asked about the chain and sprocket as there was no marks. He told me that he had marked the chain and if I have any questions about setting it up that I could call. That was a huge load off my chest.
Dropped them back at machine shop and off to the post office to ship my injectors out for servicing.
Then off to see the guy that has the CNC router table that's making our me cutting boards for the tailgates for the 60/80/100's
The boards are FDA approved cutting board stock. There will be routed groove around the inside edge to catch juices

the cutting boards sound super cool, I was going to use some aluminum plate I had cut. Will the plastic be thick and strong enough to handle the abuse the tailgate takes? ie: dogs, slamming, dropping of gear, etc.

1/2" HDPE is extremely strong. This is actual cutting boards, so it has the textured face. Look at your home cutting board, it looks like the day you bought it. You can use it daily, on weekends and our dogs can climb all over it without damaging the surface.
I have special ordered 4x10' sheets and will have them cut on a CNC router table. So they are 100% identical, square corners and smooth edges.
There is a 1/2" wide blood/juice groove around the inside border to catch any liquids from spilling over. mounting holes will be pre drilled and counter sunk for stainless hardware to mount flush.
Like each new product we come out with, we will offer a group here on MUD. We're excited about this mod as we will use it often.
Each kit will come with 1-board, stainless hardware and toggle nuts. You will need to remove the carpet cover, lay the board in place, mark the hole locations, drill holes, install hardware into the board, drop onto place and tighten hardware. You can remove it and install the carpet cover if you decide to sell it.

Gutted the cargo area plastic trim.
Removed the headliner speakers (recommendations?)
Removed the rear cargo shoulder belts
Installed a new sub. Which was a waste as I'm sure everyone would want a 10" back there, yes? If so ill design a new mount that's identical to the OE that accommodates a 10" sub. Ill work on that solution.
Removed the tailgate carpet pad and will inspect where mounting holes will be for the cutting board as I'm leaving the clip holes alone. Also I smacked it a few times and it rattles, so ill be replacing the foam around the rods and packing grease in the rod ends and clips.
Zuri our female pup was in there with me and then I had a thought about the rear glass. There no way to lock the slider in a position to prevent the dogs from poking their heads out or ever escaping (GSDs are co dependent) I was thinking about a way to lock the glass open. I think a hooked bracket to attach to the striker and the other to lock into the latch. 6-8" would be great. Then I thought about the Speski barrier and I had drawn up a window PALLs/MOLLE compatible barrier. If I adapted it to the 80 with a 4" slot across the middle then you could open the windows and your dogs can't get out and you can leave them open and not worry about theft. Just a thought.
Also those windows don't move without a lot of effort. Mr Gup says to clean the crap out of them. It's odd just how tight they are, ever the door glass is crazy tight. Also there's a 1" gap on both rear sides in the window channel seal, normal or shrinkage?
My girl tore into the carpets and they came out amazing. She also took all the plastic into the tub with Super Clean and and knocked them out.
Back to the door panels, mine are a taupe color, was this a year color or only for cloth guts? Anyone?
Also I removed the jack storage bracket in the quarter panel. Would there be a need for something else to mount in there, like a platform to mount a compressor or inverter to?

There's a company called Whole Hog who makes a sub mount already. It fits an amp too. Cost is about $140.

shane, on the rear sliders, they are probably caked with dirt, since they are on a plane with gravity, dirt settles in there over time, I have to clean mine every year or so, when I first got my 80 I had to take simple green and a soft brush and break up alot of dirt in there / and a screwdriver very carefully.
For the other windows it is well known that slow windows are usually in need of new rubber channels. The old ones over time go to s*** and expand with wet weather. Akella sells a whole kit for a reasonable price.

about the rear slider and dog escaping issue, here's what I did. In the interest of dog escaping or some guy trying to force himself in through these windows, I placed a 3/4" EMT conduit across the window. This makes it very hard to fit through the window for man or animal

The trucks that have non-sliding rear windows and no 3rd row seats have something similar from the factory.
Shane, think those cutting boards are going to be avail B4 mid-May?
