Whoops! Fixed it. Thanks.

for quality: Kurt at Cruiseroutfitters

you have a choice of bearings there

Of the two you listed, go with Kurt at cruiseroutfitters, he is a supporting Mud vendor.

So is JT Outfitters, the other company, as I listed in the OP to keep from getting comments like this that lack no decisive input other than "he's a supporting MUD vendor":bang:. Why CO instead of the kit by JT'? Price wise goes heavily to JT's but does anyone have first hand experience or input as to why CO's is better? Thanks.

X2... I'm curious too. Let's stay on topic- OP asked about quality comparison.

I'm all about supported mud venders, but $71 saved is $71 earned...

I used jonesy kit. Figured while at it, might as well swap out bearings since I would already be there.

If you are going to open it up, do it all...wheel bearings, knuckle bearings and races...and get the Marlin inner seals.

The Marlin inner seals work fine on your 60 but on the 80(full-time) they fail miserably. My wheel bearings are in great condition & on the 80 they are way overbuilt(the wheel bearings) so I'm not replacing mine. Thanks.

Where are you seeing the $71 difference? Kurt at http://www.cruiseroutfitters.com kit is $115, includes Koyo knuckle bearings. But, is currently on back order. The JT kit is $159. doesn't list brand of bearings, likely generic. Kurt goes out of his way to support the Cruiser community, have never seen JT support anything.

I would have paid more for my kit from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters, but don't tell him that.

Cruiser Outfitters for me.

JT- $159 for both sides

CO- $115 for one side ($115 x 2)
$230-$159=$71
Right?

Good point on the bearings... I think this is the type of info the OP is looking for.

I wouldn't be so quick to throw that out there. I've personally done 3 front axles rebuilds with the Marlin seals with no problems. My personal rig is on 30k with no signs of failure.

The 1 from JT is $34 more but includes BOTH axles so it actually saves $71 but is the quality the same?

You mean both sides? If the pictures are anything to go by, Kurt's includes both sides as well.

So JT's is $34 more than Kurt's. Given the overwhelming response to buy the cruiser outfitter's version I don't see why this is much of a debate. :)
