Will do my best to be there on time, I work the night shift and this week we are on an hour over time -_- meaning I don't get out till 1 am lol!
I am still in and looking forward to this trip! Thanks for the link @Crusha for the wavier, will get that done when I am on an actual PC.

Well gents, I am out, amazing how things can change in a split second.

I knew I has a slight rear diff leak between the 3rd and the axle... well I went out for errands this morning and when I got back the little drop went to a full on pool of diff fluid, The housing itself has rusted all the way threw...

I don't have a way to fix it correctly nor the time. I might try to find a way to Rig if if not, no last run for the brown truck, just time to start building the silver one...

Last minute trip for work, but I'll be back on Friday afternoon. I'm still hanging with a maybe, but there is a ton of trucks going now, awesome! I'll let you know when I can, Greg @Crusha

Just for reference

That's half a pipe end I got from Andy to put on the back as rear diff armor.
It's open on the top, so yes it collects water but after every trip I clean it out so it won't rust, but from sitting stationary for so long (omg the webs I had to clean off of it today) it must have got water in it...

This puddle was only the size of a half dollar when I left the house this morning, then an hour later:

Which originally came from here:

But now it looks like this:

I've drained the fluid, and will pour some clr in it tonight to try to clean up some of the scale, and hopfully then rig something...

Keep fingers crossed I might be able to make something work.

That's crusty lookin. That housing was beat when we got it for you. We will build the next one better. Like with drain holes. To be clear for everyone I had no part of the welding of this diff guard.

Sorry did not clarify, Andy got me the part, friend welded it, we did a rush job just to get the truck back on the road a few years ago, and Andy's right, when we got the housing from Harry's it wasn't the best but it did for the time being, u will have to get up there again and get a new one and it up better and either get another pipe end or cover Andy posted.

I'm still planning on being there. A local friend with a mini truck is likely coming along as well. I'll make sure he knows the details on where to be and when.

So um we are trying, extended capacity rear diff anyone?

The hole is just out of reach under there some where

We have 2 more days, to try to get something in, otherwise truck is ready to go for one last beating

@YotaFun I suggest if you are capping that off before you weld. Install the fill plug to keep spatter off the threads. Coat them in lots of antiseize. It will also help keep the bung round and flat.

Strange idea. Try and fill that void with somthing that won't burn when welding. It would help displace oil so you don't run low as it leaks into that cavity. Nails, bolts, gravel, you get the idea. Maybe fill it on the ramps on your driveway so you overfill slightly.

Trying to get a gauge if there are any other stockish trucks coming along this weekend? I'm well built but my brother is bringing his stock 100series for it's maiden voyage. I'm sure this will get sorted in the morning Saturday but I'd be interested to know if there was a small group interested in stockish friendly day?

So yeah, it isn't pretty but going to make something happen...

Neither of us know how to weld, and I frankly didn't care how this was going to looks so I went under and did some too. One of these days I will get my own welder and start practicing on scrap metal around...
:vomit: I feel sick. Boy your learning to weld if it's the last thing I do.
