Are there still companies that will rebuild the old Kazuma superchargers? It has about 80k miles on it over 12 years (installed late 2002). Curious if parts are still available to rebuild it. If anyone knows, or knows of a shop that does this, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the DC area, so I'm guessing it will need shipped out. Thanks!

Cheers

I'm assuming you are talking about the Gen3 ones? The one with the plenum with Kazuma embossed on it?

Magnussen, the guys that design hundreds of SCs, no longer touch the Gen3. I did find an outfit that does rebuild them in middle America somewhere. Looking for link.

Yes sir, that is the one. Purchased in 2002, I believe.

I had mine rebuilt there. It needed the rotors replaced and they were able to get a set of refurbished rotors to use. The only part they cannot replace or fix is the main housing. If that's significantly gouged you're SOL.

I spoke with Jon - super nice guy and very informative. He does still rebuild the Gen3 TRD. Labor for the rebuild is $340. Parts are typically $300-$400, so expect $500-$700 total.

He stated since they are discontinued, some spare parts are not available (brackets etc). If you do remove yours, make sure you keep everything together :)

Nice info, thanks. I have the gen 3 as well and was thinking of having mine gone through this winter.

Funny we don't see more from Mr. T - seems like they always sell every "last time" previous they released more batches of the kit.

So if a guy has a 2012 kit what generation is that ?? - I thought it was all simply a Eaton 90, with only diff being casting may say Kazuma or not, age dependant.

100k miles unless you run smaller pulley. Silicone oil needs to be changed every 20k or so. Sometimes bearings go out. The specs on the rotors fall off so they should be coated. Rotors, according to Magnussen, are no longer available for Gen3.

I got about 18 years before a rebuild,
silicone oil is where?

how about if you are running a smaller pulley? I plan to switch to a 2.8 soon. What are the symptoms of a SC unit that needs rebuilding, just a lower boost?

Not 100% sure but that would be my guess. That or the bearings go. There is a place in the mid west that will rebuild these SCs for about $700
