Kazuma/TRD Supercharger rebuild?

There is a drain plug on the nose cone. I don't recall the silicone spec off hand.
What is the spec for the silicone oil? How much fluid? Are there kits?

I just got mine back from PSE. they use Mobile1 (IIRC 15-50, I'd have to look at my paperwork) because they use an "improved" seal system. They say change it every 30,000 miles and fill it to the bottom of the threads on the plug hole. In order to drain and fill it correctly you need to pull it off the truck. After you drain it you set it on the bench with the fill hole pointing upward.

Mine had 113,000 miles on it and it had never been off the engine. PSE told me the blower was in very good condition with one bearing starting to show signs of failure.

That's good news, Dan. Thanks for the update. Please let us know how it sounds and performs once it's back on.
And I'm right behind at 108,000 with the supercharger.
I've wondered if drilling a top fill hole and tapping for a plug might be an option. Maybe TRD did bottom drain/fill for a reason????

It has been running on the truck for three days now. In this installation the blower is standing on edge instead of laying flat, which is the original orientation. I would not want to poke an extra hole in that nose.

In retrospect pulling it off at that interval does allow for inspection of the bypass assembly, the rotors and give you a chance to replace the short bypass hose. My bypass hose looked like hell and I had no way of seeing how bad it really was untill I took the blower off.

PSE did a very nice job but they are not necessarily a fast turnaround. I pulled it off Christmas day, shipped it to them on December 26th and I got it back on Friday February 20th.

Wow.... 2 months.... I just mailed my Gen3 to Bond Performance to rebuild yesterday. Will report on their turnaround.

muniz1942, Jon Bond Performance suggests one 8oz bottle of supercharger oil for TRD Gen 3/Eaton MP90 should be more than enough to fill to bottom of the thread holes of the plug hole. Or, replace with amount of oil drained out;). Otherwise, you will need two 4oz bottles of the GM SC oil.

No drilling of any holes in my Kazuma! I'm keeping it "stock":)
I'm just wondering about the use of Mobile1 15-50 (?) as a supercharger oil?
Had never heard of that application.

PSE uses that because of the sealing system they have. They do NOT recommend blending oils or using Mobil in a blower with a conventional seal.

So got a detailed estimate from Bond today with a summary of all the teardown notes. 15 minutes later had a call from Jon Bond himself going over the damage. Very impressed with him.

Says it should be ready by end of week.

I need a list of all the elbows and rubber joints as Bond stocks them in silicone. Anyone have a list of pieces?

Damage?

Everything replaced including bypass valve (extra $110) and tube that had hole in it, $850.

See detail attached of all the bearings and items they do.

Thanks for the update and other info. I think I'm going with Jon Bond - very knowledgeable and generous with his time regarding all my questions. Thanks!

Anyone have a list of the silicone tubes needed for our systems?

Ugh. No way I would have that kind of downtime
