Just went downstairs and found these sexy twins by the front door! Ill install them tomorrow.

how the lights looks aesthetically don't really matter to me...its how they perform... good info

Got the high beams hooked up his morning :)
They needed no modifications to work with the existing harness.

Much larger diameter projector compared to the low beam

I wasn't feeling the whole normal/weird combo, but i think the weird/weird works much better. Looks freaking awesome imo!

Night shots will be added tomorrow night

wow... I'm getting convinced here. They look nice. Also, I have the exact same ARB setup in front.
Hmmm..

OUCH! $1179 shipped.
Maybe I'll just wait and hope my lights go out soon?

Will these plug-n-play with the stock headlight wiring harness? It sounds like you got a custom harness from someone here on Mud.

Thanks for the write-up and draining my wallet some more. :meh:

Looking great! Love them but the cost will keep me away..for now
Side question...you have the aussi mirrors, so do you just manually adjust them? Did you put anything in place of the factory adjusters? If you may have mentioned it already in your build thread..sorry, too lazy to look.

Very cool
Thank you!

Yeah they're kind of $. For a stock harness, you'll probably need to swap the 3 prongs around on the low beams until you find that they light up. Keep some headlight fuses handy because you'll probably be blowing them until you get the correct orientation. BUT, id definitely invest in @slcfj62 headlight harness (especially with halogen lights). For like $200, the difference it made was immense!

Happy to help :)

I hope one day they release this with HI Low right in there .. like the round trucklite ..
Yeah having high/low in a single unit like the round JW speakers would be awesome. Not sure if the 2 projectors would fit into a single 4x6 housing (unless they were side by side), especially since all the JWs seem to be symmetrical over the Y axis.
Oh well, just means we gotta pay for 4 lights instead of 2 lol.

Oooohh yeah I like it. Your cruiser looks like a monster with four eyes:zilla:

Thanks. Euro mirrors are not powered so i do it by hand. I took out the power mirror adjuster and i put something in its place.

Well i finally got to aiming the high beams tonight and I'm afraid I'm not really impressed with them.. The low beams are great! exactly what i wanted, but the highs.. Ill just get to the pictures haha.

If anyone can see what I'm doing wrong aiming wise, id love some suggestions haha. Ive talked with Erik (slcfj62) and they're all hooked up correctly. My expectations may just have been too high?

@robustbambi...any luck getting the high beams adjusted? What exactly are you not liking about them?

I aimed them down more and it helped a lot. The arb block some of the light that would shine on the grind directly in front of the cruiser. That's the only real negative now. If I took the bumper off, the lights would be perfect.

Trying to link this using my phone... https://forum.ih8mud.com/index.php?threads/Another-LED-Headlight-Option.805171/

This is a short write up I did on some round LEDs. Almost a year later I still think they're a fantastic light. No icing issues this winter in Kansas City, but precipitation has been light.

Install requires some additional wiring because, unlike halogens, LEDs do care which way the current flows. Thanks a lot, switched ground design!

At first when i bought the JW speaker, i thought they looked okay. I don't feel completely satisfied with the light output especially if there's even one street light on in the night. However, on the whole, they're brilliant. They have a fantastic spread of light. They are also very very very low on consumption - which for a 60 series, with any additional accessories added makes quite a difference on the halogen headlights. The high beam are not all that intense if you actually drive with them. They're decent. On the whole, for high and low beam, i'd stick to JW. I believe they have a new evolution series - which i'm eyeing solely for the low beam right now. I appreciate JW's intention of making the 8800 into foglights. Makes it a little easier to work with.
None the less, Robustbambi, you've made a good call! :)

Safe driving!!

Does your hi-beam indicator light on the dash still function after your recent install of the 8800 high-beams?
Sorry just saw this. Yes the dash light still works like it should

hey to you Speaker 8800 guys: I got the new evolution ones the LOW BEAMS and installed today in my 89 FJ62. They look great when headlight switch is on low beam, but when I go to high beam (remember these are old style Sylvanias on high beam) sometimes they come on sometimes not, but the new Speaker Lows go off, or just glow very dimly. Do I need a new headlight harness? Do I need a new turn signal switch assembly? BTW, I'd noticed just in the last few weeks when I switch to high beam in truck there was a short delay or I had to wiggle switch, but of course all four Sylvanias came on fine before I installed the Speakers. Confused yet? I was thinking of getting the Speaker high beams too but not until I figure this out. Don't all four lights need to come on when switch is moved to high beam? Input appreciated.
