I was considering this head unit for my 100 series. Given your issues, but now unexplained recovery, would you still recommend it?

I am happy with it, even with the display issue. I've had Sony and Alpine in previous vehicles and both brands have had their issues over the years, it's just the way it goes. I'm actually considering going with something single DIN so I can put a HAM radio under the head unit, but that's a ways off yet and the JOYING is getting the job done.

Just a heads up. There isn't an accelerometer in this unit, or any other head units, so it's not compatible with inclinometers like RollMeOver. But, you can probably mirror your phone and run the app on it and display to the Joying.

Found that out after the fact too. I even emailed the rollover guy because I didn't know why it wouldn't work. I use inclinometer by gelosav on Google play, it works rather well without the accelerometer.

Edit- that's what u have on my phone. I'll have to double check my Joying, but I swear it worked.

I have a similar set up in my 80. I used the Pioneer AppRadio 2 and an app called ARUnchained. It mirrors your cell phone so your phone becomes the head unit, that is, you can control your phone from the head unit touch screen. This will work with App Radio 2 and later. I'm excited there's so much interest in this capability; I'll have to do a write up!

I've been noticing that the usb port does not seem to be able to keep up with charging my phone while running maps and music at the same time. It will just hold the battery percentage steady but it does not increase. I think I'll just charge off of a powered port unless I need the phone connected directly for something.

as I have mentioned before the USB only provide 480mA
you need above 1000 mA for phones now a days

get a POWERED BC1.2 USB hub and you are good to go , charge above 1200mA and data at the same time and extra ports

So... I don't *need* a new head unit yet, but it's definitely a want. And looking around on ebay I stumbled across all of these cheap Chinese android loaded head units, and I'm kind of in shock... I think I really really want one now. Thought I'd pop in and see how yall's units are doing a few months down the road as I start to research a new set up.

I am the only authorized seller and repair center for Joying android head units. If anyone is interested or has questions let me know.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and haven't found a good mirroring app that works with my Joying radio. Any suggestions? Finally hooked up my reverse camera which is handy. I'll be adding a forward facing camera too.

Got to say i am pretty happy with the Joying unit I installed back in April. My only issue is with storage for apps. I have only a few apps but regularly get the out of storage message. I know I need to research it more but when it works I don't remember and when it doesn't I don't have time....

Is the unit able to display outside temperature? Is there a port in the back for a thermometer plug?
Nope. I think you could use a weather app if you tethered to your phone or mirrored to your phone.

Without drivers I doubt anything would happen but for 10 bucks give it a go. Nothing to lose.

I've had this 7" headunit since May and I really like it. The customer service with this particular seller is great too. I have contacted him four or five times with questions and always received an answer within a day.

I've been researching this one for a few weeks. Can you offer any info on the ease of installation or if there were any major setbacks with the install? Pics? Thanks!
