Has anyone used the SOR inside cabin spare tire carrier (255-06) that is said to be for FJ60 & FJ62 in your pig? The distance between the mounting bracket holes of 16 1/4" makes me think it might be doable since 255-05 for the FJ55 has been discontinued. Anyone done it another way? The end plan is to have a bumper fabbed with a swing out for the tire, but in the meantime standing it up would take up significantly less room. TIA for any advice.

@scrapdaddy

Love to see some pics of that, is that what you used or did you fabricate something else?

I made my own after looking at the one I bought, didn't like it.

You want a rear bumper for a Pig with a spare tire on it swing-out?

@gonzopancho and I talk about this all the time…

@Bump It Offroad

That’s what we are getting ready to do bumper mounted swing out. Need all the space in the rear I can get for the road trip. So going to make a loop on the rear that also supports the roof rack and get the weight off gutters then do a swing away tire carrier off that. Will post up pictures when done but probably a month out.

I put mine in and tied it to the wall with a ratchet strap.
If you're changing it anyway, don't spend money on steel, use a ratchet strap that you already own, cut it to length, and you're set.

Keep talking!!
Less talk, more work.

Semi-obvious that the former incarnation of BIO did the rear bumper on @PabloCruise’s 55. This would be easy to duplicate and mod with a swingarm and tire carrier/latches.

Where it gets more difficult is when you start adding even more stuff: Cooler basket, stoves, ladders, bike racks, additional tail/brake/turn signal lights; receiver hitch (@PabloCruise has one on his pig), etc

I’m good with just the tire swing! Have old confer rack for on top to carry other items.
