Hey everyone! It’s been 15 years since my 74 fj was hit by a kid in a Porsche and I’ve been missing it ever since. I e since moved from LA to GA, and my wife just recently pushed me to get one again..(yeah, she’s pretty amazing). I just picked up a Rustic Green 76 and I’m getting ready to fix her back up and use as my daily…yeah, at 51, I might be insane, but of the 25 or so cars I’ve had, my fj was the only one I really missed..woohoo!
It’s funny, the pic in my avatar has my oldest son in my arms and he’s now 16 and driving!! Haha! I also have an 11 year old boy who never saw my old rig in person. Needless to say, I’m glad to be back here and look forward to a long life with this new addition..

That one looks like a really decent starting point. Paint always looks much better in the rain. Hows the interior and mechanicals? Congrats!

Really? Maybe he was on here? I got it in Alabama. Good guy owned it and just ended up not having the time to put into it. Lots of new parts and I’m pretty solid shape

Thanks! I’ll be respraying it soon…paint is okay, but I need to cut and patch a few rust spots. I have most new stuff to redo the whole thing... I’ll try to keep updating pics as I go.

I look back at that day and wish I had bought the truck back. I had a line on a clean 74 frame to swap everything..I had a young son back then (15 years ago) and tried to do the ‘responsible’ thing and get a normal vehicle…dumb move that I regretted ever since. But thanks to my amazing wife, I’m back!..
