I have an unpopular opinion here, too, but I'm with @Dusten. The ARB bumpers are antiquated (but straightforward and that ain't always bad) and do not flow well with the 80s lines. I have the Delta VS bumper, but I'm sure some can't stand them.

I'm one of those who can't stand them. Imo they look like something that belongs on a 2022 brodozer instead of a 90's classic. :flush:

I like bumpers that flow with the design on modern cars but part of the reason why I like the ARB on an 80 is I feel like it kind of squares up an otherwise bubble/round design. personal opinion of course
I get it, and it's a very popular bumper here on the forums and with other 80 owners, I just don't share the enthusiasm, it's your car you do what you want with it and it's my car and I'll do what I want with it, my Land cruiser has its flaws that most people would probably be quick to point out too so I don't think I'm above anyone I just don't like that bumper

What do you like? (Not scrutinizing your opinion, just wondering what other options you like better.)
The dvs with a full bar and the dissent without the bar both work better with the lines. But that's opinion.

The DVS and Dissent are probably my two favorite bumper with bull bars.

The Dissent bumper is a modular bumper and the bull bar can be added/removed.

What is the weight of each bumper mentioned above? Just curious.

Arb ~80lbs
Delta ~120
Dissent ~95

These are weights without winches

I think the shipping weight on mine with winch and lights was ~250

Also, FWIW:

Delta with the full grill guard package is 150lbs.

A Warn M12 winch with steel cable is about 130lbs.

A Warn M12 winch with synthetic line is about 100lbs.

Of course, my opinions usually differ from that of most, but I'm not a fan of the dvs at all. I'll have to look up the Dissent. I don't know what that one looks like. I'll probably end up getting an ARB for mine. I know they're super strong, and I like the design pretty well, but I can also understand why some people wouldn't.

Edit: Never mind... I just looked up at the recent posts and there's the Dissent. I'm still for the ARB.

People still use steel cable?

Not a fan of the DVS or Dissent look either. The DVS is a fantastic piece of design and fabrication, i just don't think it fits the style of the 80s.

My choice would be 4x4 Labs or the Slee Shortbus.
Functional, minimalist, understated, and strong

The dissent with bull bar is basically a more stylish arb.

The arb bumper is the track home of bumpers.

Edited. Warn M12 w/ synthetic rope is approximately 100lbs.
Thankfully my rigs not hugely overweight so a 9.5k was more than enough for my needs.

88lbs with synth line.

To be 100% honest. Although I'm sure sure they're all more than up to the task, I don't like the way any of these bumpers look. (including the ARB) However, if I had to choose one, I would still choose the ARB. I don't know... maybe I'll make my own.
