I recently purchased the Marks 4WD part time kit for my ‘97 HDJ81 about two months ago, received and finally had a chance to install. Took about 7 hours on a lift at the shop with my bestie who owns a ‘77 Celica GTV Fast Back. Shout out to 4WD Shed for the superb YouTube Uni video we used to help with the install, and shout out to Marks4WD who assisted getting the part out of limbo in the shipping to US and eventually Japan. Still have to get the ABS relocator installed but will do in the near term. Last shout out to the guys that hooked this forum up with the FSM, they’re are the real kings!

Install went pretty easy. If you do you own highly recommend you work you separate the exhaust in the midsection if you work with the T-case still attached, it’ll help when reinstalling the rear plate if you have a three piece.

First impressions since I literally just got her off the lift and back in the road, she is most definitely most responsive in the front end. It’s like taking a 100 lbs of s***e off of someone’s shoulders who’s carried it their entire lives and finally has the means to relax. Power to the rear wheels feels somewhat same but once I get er up to a higher speed we can see the true difference. Still waiting on a CDS to come through but not taking her 4WD until that gets in. Overall easy kit To install, turning is way more responsive, and waiting to see what the MPG gain if any exists. At the moment I’m at ~500KM with full time and 35” that came with the rig, we will see changes with the part time but I’m hopeful. Im thinking a PDI airbox or intercooler next, but tell me you thoughts.
