Good morning everyone,
Yesterday I was out running errands and when I got back to the car and turned the key I got dash lights but no resistance when I tried to turn the car on. There was no return of the key when I turned it to crank the engine. Hope I’m explaining myself.
I did not hear the starter clicking at all or the engine turning.
It was like ignition itself is broken.
Thanks for the help.

Steering lock was likely engaged, as you tried turning IG SW on. Snap, goes the rod:

looks like what happened to ours.
It’s at the Lexus dealer now waiting to get looked at.

It’s worth asking, do you try to turn it over even when you can feel it’s “tight”. Moving the steering wheel back and forth some will make it feel smoother. It is fairly common to happen though.

I’ve yet to break an ignition and we have 3 2UZs. Waiting for the one on my wife’s to give out because she parks with her wheels turned sometimes and imo she’s got too much weight on her keychain. Hasn’t broke yet she tells me 😅

I turned the key all the way as if starting but nothing. Only dash lights

Your are correct, it will be for a new ignition assembly with keys.
They are still diagnosing

I’ve been away from the forum for a while and need to get back in here regularly to keep up.
I really do appreciate everyone’s input.
