Hello all! We have all had at one point in time the infamous EFI no start issue on our 100 series. Sometimes it comes at the worst of times and it’s random. Well it happened to me right before a big trip and we were scrambling to try to get it fixed. Sometimes it’s as simple as pulling out the fuse and putting in a 20 amp fuse. It doesn’t always work.

You know you are having this issue if the check engine light and the automatic transmission temperature light does not come on when you turn the key. Of course you’re gonna have the immobilizer light flashing but it’s because the ECU is not being powered.

This is a quick and easy fix that can permanently resolve the issue if you desire .

Are there any downsides to this fix vs the other one with the relay?

It is about the EFI fuse slot melting rether than the relay itself. I had this very similar wire contraption on one of my 2000 LXs, from the previous owner but apparently it did not last long. I had to bypass the fuse port entirely for it to work permanently.... and @medtro has provided that permanent solution.

My opinion is that this is the best permanent fix.
