Georg, This is primarily for you. I need #16 and #10 in this pic. I have everything else. Let me know if you still want pics. Also, do I need to change out the top plate of my transfercase for one specific to the floor shift, or can I use mine? Thanks
Just so everyone knows, when doing a transfer shifter swap to the floor you cannot use a late (in my case 1977) fj40 shifter on the nose cone of a three speed transfercase. It does not have a spot for #10 in the below pic.

Just so y'all don't think I'm slacking...oh alright I'm slacking, but I do have parts coming in and I'm working on some little stuff. I had to pull my wife's Corolla into the garage due to the recent cold snap and the Cruiser is currently enjoying the -45 temps.
Thanks to: jp_waltz, orangefj45, landcrusher909, and 93jspec for all the parts I'm currently prepping to install on the 40! We have a great group of dudes on the forum.
Anyways, I cleaned some hubcaps tonight. Can you tell which one isn't spit-shined in the pic?
Also, one pic of the back of my house on a cold night.

glad I'm not the only one!
Trust me, there are plenty more up here for everyone. I've had my eye on a pristine 1981 fj40 w/power steering and only 17k miles as well as a 1975 fj55 that has 90k original miles as well as the original owner. Of course neither want to sell...yet. Cruisers are in a number of people's backyards up here. It pains me to see so many rotting away.

nice find! that pto winch seems strikingly similiar to a desert dynamics i had on parts truck i purchased a while back. oh and those are cee bee headlights! not sure if the spelling is right but i have some on my 75 cruiser with the same rust in them. i was told they made off road lights back in the day and were apparently an upgrade at the time. looking forward to seeing the progress.

Pulled the 40 inside after a lonngg cold spell. I've been ordering parts and prepping some small stuff while the poor thing was freezing in -45 temps. Here's a pic of her just starting to thaw out. There is no way in heck I'm touching anything metal on it until tomorrow! lol

thanks for the info! I wish the lights were in better shape. I replaced them with some extras I had laying around. That PTO setup is a weird one. It has the oem PTO on the transfercase, but the shifter was a long cable running up to the dash.

I've got ya beat. I was 10 or so and licked a framing hammer at -20. My tongue still looks weird. Lol My buddy that bet I wouldn't do it ripped the bugger off.

It is going slow right now. About to really pick up as I start vacation tomorrow ( Friday the 14th ). I am hurting with funds right now because the two houses I rent out ( Prince george Virginia and Hope Mills North Carolina ) are empty and the savings is dwindiling quickly staying up with those two mortgages
. Not going to stop me from working with what I have though, 
and that is my frame and doing the shackle reversal and rear bumper on it. Maybe I should go update my thread with my three week plan.

I've been working on the Cruiser on and off for a while now. I beat out some of the dents on the rear fenders so I can fit the fender flares. I sent out the manifold to get machined (It was really eaten up due to a bad manifold gasket). I also finished up the floor shift conversion on the tranny and transfercase. Also got the battery hooked up (I've got some wiring to figure out as the lights, turn signals, and horn don't work). It has fresh oil in everything (the tranny had a concerning amount of metal in it). I also ran some new heater hose and cut out a bunch of odd extra heater hose the PO had running everywhere). It has a new fan belt since the old one had to be original to the Cruiser.
I need to run fuel line, hook up the manilfold and carb, clean the fuel tank, and hook up the driveshafts, get a new clutch master cylinder, and figure out why the rear brakes are siezed. I'm getting closer...

Got some more stuff done on the 40! Fender flares, finished all shifter linkage, installed manifold, new style oil filter, patched gas tank, cleaned up the carb, etc. I'm waiting for radiator hoses, and need to run interior heater lines and fuel line then I can try to start this thing!
To fund the next phase, I'm selling my Tacoma
. Probably won't get much done on the 40 in the next couple of weeks as I'll be trying to sell the Taco and work on our plow truck.

Looking great man! Great to see progress on someones FJ40 in our neck of the Arctic! BTW if you need or want I should say the old axle shafts from the axle I got from you as spares let me know, or any of the drum brake stuff. Its all just for lack of better words "scrap" to me.

Thanks Chris! It's been fun thus far, but I've already got some leaks to fix, and some serious electrical stuff to figure out. I really have no need for the axle stuff, but the drum's and wheel cylinders might be nice to have as backups. I'm really going to try to get the drums function on this thing, but I might swap in the 60 knuckles and discs if I can't get the bugger to stop.
