I'm a US Army, Infantry veteran (10th Mt. Div) and a wildland firefighter. I know camaraderie. This story is as good as anything I've seen or experienced.
Crappy start to a story with an encouraging outcome
It makes me thinkthat we (MUD 80 owners, or even all LC's) should develop a database of Onur-like minded people willing to help a fellow Mudder out of a jam.
I think some Land Rover club used to have this, or still do, as well as the vintage BMW motorcycle club.
It would consist of some basics, like location, contact number, services available, etc.
I've got towing/recovery capabilities, lift/tools/compressor/welder/etc, storage if needed, a place to crash. Etc.
Anyone want to tackle this?

The problem with this is that it ends up publicizing and punishing benevolence. As much as we (as a community) think of ourselves as stand-up, helpful, assistance-minded people...their are outliers that seek only to take advantage of such generosity. Selfish, overly entitled people that will count on this sort of stuff for non-emergency situations or for situations they could easily solve themselves but just don't care to.
A tip of the fedora to you Onur ! That is certainly going waaaay beyond the call of duty... Looking forward to buying you a cold one next time we meet.

As far as the mechanical problem, I don't think I would be looking to flog the seller unless the OP says he was told it had a recent axle service or something close to that. It's an old truck.
