Onur, thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are a truly wonderful individual. Safe travels home, next time we meet may it be on a trail without a broken cruiser. Happy trails.

That's bull****! For $13k you shouldn't drive for an hour and have it break down. That's wrong and so are you for thinking it OK.

WOW! for 13k I'd be hunting that guy down like a bloodhound! This should not happen to any 80 over 9k or 10k.

Amazingly generous of Beno to be lending a helping hand like that. That is not part of anyone's call of duty, that's just how great a person he is. Not to steal Beno's thunder but here is an amazing video that would/should bring any man tears(i had freshly cut onions near by). We all should embrace the goodness from our heart and do good for sake of goodness!

Lead on Beno!

Nice job Onur! Also, nice photo of the electrical cord through the hotel ha.

That Onur guy is good people. You can find countless stories on MUD of him helping others and many more around a campfire. Not to downplay the event, but that's just how he is. A true asset to the community and someone that I'm glad to call a friend.

In addition to his (long) day of helping a fellow LC owner, he opted not to drive straight home until after he had taken some time to meet, eat and drink with some strangers from a little club called Old North State Cruisers. We'll gladly welcome him back now that we know he's fine with the cheap tequila.

Awesome. Glad you made it home. Onur is the man.

I guess I am going to be driving to Nalley for parts now. Onur sounds like a class act.

I have spent thousands of dollars on OEM parts from supporting dealers on this site, American Toyota and Lowe, I am sure there are others and I am sure they are great but the service and advice I have gotten from Onur and Dan is invaluable.

I started ordering from Lowe when Onur moved back east because shipping was cheaper and faster being that I am in MD. Now that Onur has moved I will be ordering from him where ever he ends up.

Dealers/sponsors take notice, I will support the supplier where ever Onur ends up.

Like I said before, at this point the OP hasn't stated that he was mislead about the condition of the vehicle or lied to about maintenance. Until and unless he does you are in no position to be calling for anyone's head. One of these trucks, 15-17 years owned and wheeled by a non cruiserhead can lead to all kinds of necessary repairs and maintenance no matter what is paid to buy it.

Once again big props to Onur.

Speechless. Read every message; what a great guy that Onur is!

Good to read these stories, not only for MUD, but life in general.

Too many people only looking out for themselves these days, and that mentality seems to be getting worse.

I appreciate the sentiments folks, but listen... A lot of this stuff isn't rocket science.

If someone is a member of a tribe and they espouse and believe the philosophy of this tribe, then s*** like this is no brainer.

In a recent post someone said (I think it was Michael, Claudia's husband)... "This isn't a religion, it's just a truck.."

Well IMO, in a world of reality shows, hyper reality, platitudes, and feigned belief, I'd like to think that the "cruiser solution" is what we do very well. I'd like to think that belief in just "a truck" is an ok thing in a world where pretty much everything else has let me down...

So yeah maybe my religion is Toyota Land Cruisers. I'm ok with this. There are a lot of other bull**** things to ascribe to and have belief in....

I'd like to think that as a tribe we have certain values that are instinctually "mechanical." This was one of them.

And it worked out that I didn't have to work this weekend. :)

Anyway, I think thread is done at this point. Morgan made it home, and I am working on my 2F today.

To quote, Bill S.: alls well that ends well.

There already is such a list. Search mud. Unfortunately, some guy from Atlanta has been covering all of North America, so the rest of us on the list never get to meet anybody!!

Interesting aside - I am also on a similar list for Vanagon assistance and get calls all the time. Never on these dang overbuilt 80s in 10 years....

My understanding is that the list has been removed. This may explain why you didn't any call in a long time. Please post link if it still exists.
