I just think beno likes to travel  ;)

 to a speedy recovery for the truck and all - my LX died on me as I bought it, too

It restores my faith in humanity to read stuff like this! My hats off to you Onur.

I am in awe. Wow! Gotta be the coolest thing I have read on here. Thanks for sharing the story!

That's it, I'm canceling my AAA membership.

Like others have said, it's comforting to know there's still good people out there.

What an amazing story. That fella is one class act!

The good part of this story is excellent to hear. Nice!

Who is this ONUR Guy?

Some parts counter flunky from Nalley Toyota in Georgia...Looks like a short, nondescript, Mediterranean Philosopher/Alcoholic. The kind you'd see draining a bottle of Ouzo while sucking a stogie and playing chess poorly in some Greek seaside plaza.

Should narrow it down:

Can you pick out the Turk?

Wow haven't had to call on him yet but so glad to have such a great person right down the street !!!! cheers beno !!!!

Wow, just wow. OP, sorry to hear about your issues. I have delt with Onur for parts and he is an amazing wealth of information. Cheers to you Onur!!!! Feel free to swing by here on your way back home, I sent a PM. Good Karma all around on this story.

Crappy start to a story with an encouraging outcome:clap:
It makes me think :hhmm:that we (MUD 80 owners, or even all LC's) should develop a database of Onur-like minded people willing to help a fellow Mudder out of a jam.
I think some Land Rover club used to have this, or still do, as well as the vintage BMW motorcycle club.
It would consist of some basics, like location, contact number, services available, etc.
I've got towing/recovery capabilities, lift/tools/compressor/welder/etc, storage if needed, a place to crash. Etc.
Anyone want to tackle this?
It could be a daunting task, or it could just fizzle out due to a lack of interest:meh:

There already is such a list. Search mud. Unfortunately, some guy from Atlanta has been covering all of North America, so the rest of us on the list never get to meet anybody!!

Interesting aside - I am also on a similar list for Vanagon assistance and get calls all the time. Never on these dang overbuilt 80s in 10 years....

Getting torn into it...what a mess

ONUR is good people. Hard to keep up with where he calls home :grinpimp: But honest as the day is long.

I had same exact issues halfway from Chicago to KC in my 96' LC that I call FOO. Did the teardown in Walmart parking lot. (pics in my what the foo link below) Unfortunatuly Beno was not on call that night. :bang:

My advice, start up a thread and share your long term progress on this rig.
