Plates... The OME yellow bushings only correct approx. 1.5" of lift.
@landtank through Witts End offers plates for 2.5" & 3.5" of lift.
850/860 is a good level lift for lightly loaded 80s... but its still just a 20th centery lift.
Get into the 21st century by going dual rate. TourFlex, ToughDog, Slinky & Dobinson offer dual rate coils.

Yeah but OME is also a 20th century price....not adjusted for inflation. ;)

But yeah, money no object, I'd definitely look at the Auto-Craft Slinky setup.

For the OME price you can have much better Dobinson 3” flexi progressive coils and shocks that won’t be so harsh.

Hi guys, I am buying my OME 2.5 heavy lift in a day or so but how do i get this thing to sit level. I've seen numerous pics and want to get what i need first so I don't have that stink bug look. I have seen posts mention a spacer up front, J coils and even the MAF castor correction plates. Given that the standard KIT comes with the Castor bushing kit, what are my best options? kinda leaning toward new standard rubber bushings and the MAF plates but unsure. but that only addresses the castor, not the stink bug look... It's so hard when your ready to pull the trigger. thanks in advance.
My first lift was OME 850j front and 863 rear. Sat ever so slightly high in the rear and, depending on the load, she leveled out or went a bit anti-stinkbug. IMO, OME “heavies” aren’t so HD. By the time you add full armor and a cooler of sodas you have met their rating for extra constant load.

I would seriously encourage you to check out offerings from Dobinson, Tough Dog and anyone else that makes a dual rate or progressive coil. The difference in your smile will be dramatic.

Sorry for the kinda stupid spoon-feed request, but in my searches so far i've only seen a 2" Dobinson spring. Is there a vendor that carries the full line so i can look at it all? The amount of support for these trucks can get rather overwhelming (and chaotic in my opinion) coming from the Montero. In reading this thread, i'm now interested in a Dobinson springs and maybe some Bilsteins.

ok so decided on the cruiser outfitters Heavy Load Level Stance Suspension 3.5" & 2.5" Lift. the kit does come with the SLEE SOF1048 Caster Correction Plate Kit but the rep i spoke to at cruiser outfitters mentioned he would be able to swap the plate kt for the offset bushings. if i keep the plate kit i would need to change my rubber bushings since one is dryrotted. or should i go with the offset bushings and be done with it? try to pay for the order today if someone can point me the right way. thanks for all the help so far

I got the OME heavy way back when, because I planned on having a heavier than normal constant load on the vehicle. (front and rear armor and supplies). my truck with arb front and rear bumper w/ tire carrier and cargo swing out sits level with this setup.

J's in front / Medium's in rear
Mine sit's perfectly level with a heavy font bumper and warn winch. Factory rear bumper.
Correction plates up front placed the steering back to factory feel

I've got the standard height OMEs, heavy front, medium rears, and about 200kg onboard, rack and tools currently, no armor. I wanted it level and put 20mm spacers up front, and 15mm at the rear, and with the weight, she sits fairly level.

however, having now lived with it for a year or so, whenever I have added another 150-200kg (2 big dogs, fuel, people etc, 300kg of tiles, once) she now sags (no weight at front on heavies, mediums at rear) to below the horizontal line. boo.

hence I will be replacing the rear 15mm spacers with 30mm ones in early 2018, to lift the rear up slightly, and hopefully not go below horizontal any more.

just be wary of aiming at level if you plan to vary your carrying weights much on the med/heavy combo, is all I would say..

edit. or get 150kg of bumper and winch on the front too, at which point it should presss down at the front as well as the back.

ARB aka Old Man Emu makes "Trim Packers." I put a 10 mm one in my front driver over the weekend as the Northstar battery dropped the drivers corner about 3/8". ARB/OME makes them in 5, 10 7 15 mm so you can add to each corner to level the lean!

I've never quite understood the obsession with a truck sitting perfectly level!? When? When it's parked in the driveway with nothing in it? I'd rather have a little rake so when I load it up it's level, not sitting low in the back as soon as I put something in the back. I've been amazed at the lengths some will go to correct if the most minor difference in height front to back.

Completely agree, the height difference is by design! If the rig’s weight never changes that might make sense but every time I go actually use the LC I always load it with stuff and that will always lower the back by about an inch. I absolutely HATE the sag look and it obviously have reduced travel for off-roading.

I have heavy and heavy right now and it sits level so now I either need to change the rear to J or comp.
