Tires look new also

5 new 15” steelies came in today from Cruiser Outfitters. Tomorrow off to the tires shop early in the morning to swap the like new mud terrains that came off Chris’s wheels on em. Then wife’s 40 will have 4 new wheels on it.
Are you keeping the rims that Chris was running?

I know a few folks here probably live in a small town so after driving to town this morning to get tires swapped it made me curious why you love it. I respect those who prefer the city life and all the amenities but that's definitely not for me.

Saw 4 turkeys and deer leaving the house this morning.

Dropped tires and old rims off at 8 at our local tire shop, just drove 25 minutes home and just got called to come get em.

Filled up the truck with diesel and since I filled up my coffee was free. Lady behind the counter and I struck up conversation if I was going to go to car show at the lake today.

Chatted it up with guy and gal at Napa where I'm at frequently and can get hydraulic hoses made in less than 30 minutes. Discussion was about how CC companies are crooked with their fee's.

Pastor mowing his church lawn and I don't know him but I returned an enthusiastic wave.

Grabbed couple donuts from local donut shop where Vietnamese family has owned as long as I can remember. They always ask about the family and my daughter are doing at school.

Something I felt was lost where I moved back from, everywhere I went I either held the door or someone held it for me and said "good Morning".

Not to sound weird but I know our country would be a better place if we returned to some of these small town values.

Well back to town to get some tires/wheels for the 40 since I stole from it for the Pig! Have a good day everyone!
Good stuff Jon!

I don't have any answers, but I sure do know what you speak of.

Small towns are where it's at! Everything you said and more. Sure we have problems too, but I swear if someone says "hey, I need help" there would be plenty of people lining up. A good example of that is the town I broke down it, Carrollton, Ga. Those people really stepped up to help me and I'll never forget it. Let's all pray small town values start to come back to America and we can raise our families in peace. Our town and many others are having "Home Coming" parades this weekend, so all the Grandkids are having a ball and getting ready for the dance tonight.
It is homecoming here! All kinds of fun shenanigans!

❤️ it! About 6,000 here now, but when I first moved here in 1993 was 2,200 peeps didnt take long to become a townie! Weekends SWELL above 60,000 but thats how the $$ comes in 🤔😉. You adjust. Still wave to locals and sometime the PO,PO but not as much from years ago. Local Car show put on by Parks and Recs soon. Might go we'll see. Not fond of crowds 😒. But ❤️ my Mud Buddies 😘
And we ♥️ you Bob!

Can of worms subject!

We got one in our town and I have mixed feelings about it. It is nice having another option to possibly find what you’re looking for. They carry blasting sand/soda which is nice, and they also have a good selection of abrasive/grinding/sanding discs. They were also the only place in town that had a transfer punch set.

They don’t have left hand drill bits or much of a selection of taps or dies IIRC. I’ve struck out more times than I can remember looking for something that wasn’t just basic.

As far as the Made In China aspect, you can’t get away from that with nearly anything anymore. Just bought a Makita grinder that was MIC, and think even a lot of DeWalt and Milwaukee is MIC. So at that point unless you use that specific tool daily or weekly, what’s the difference between two MIC tools other than a brand name? Both are still MIC.
There used to be a Sears in the town near me. That was very useful. Then they left the mall so I would have to drive about 25 min to the next big town. Then Sears left there. There was a super Sears down by Denver (~1 hr away), but I think that is gone too...

Sittin in the PiG while Kim is in Walmart. People
watching in parking almost as good as at a mall!!

Quite a bit of reduction with road noise with BFG A/Ts instead of the Mud terrains which is nice. Smoother ride also.

Gave the pig good scrubbing at car wash. Hopefully drive home doesn’t stir up too much dust so I can take some rubbing compound to it. Wife won’t let me doing anything in shop with new floor, gonna wait till tomorrow and let it cure some but trying to get drivers window functional today.

Congrats Jon, I know you will give it a good home!

Not me but kids had great day! They attend college in Hawaii, her boyfriend is greatest kid who has helped Kelsey so much during her health issues with new onset Epilepsy which started last year. He asked her out their Senior year in high school and it’s been a blessing ever since.
She couldn’t drive until last month and Nik has helped get Kelsey everywhere she has ever needed to be without question in older 4 runner we got them.

Nik is in first year of architecture school and doing great and has some serious talent. His grandparents had fund for school and to help with housing but nothing else. His parents told him to get a job this fall but with him staying at lab many nights past midnight it’s extremely difficult to find a job as he has been trying without any luck.

So we’re basically supporting two wonderful kids with groceries and his architectural supplies. He doesn’t have any outlets and no funds to do anything so we bought him membership at climbing gym which he joined with one the low price intro offers but couldn’t afford it after that ran out. His birthday is the 17th and we’re gonna surprise him with new (used) surf board as his skills have exceeded his long board.

Well long intro but apparently the kids were volunteering at a farm today in Hawaii and Nik met his all time favorite singer Jack Johnson.

Have to share his big smile!!

Before it died, Sears/Craftsman was no better than HF and had worse customer service to boot
