The :princess: says let's go to the pub for dinner, I say yep sounds good we'll take the red truck for its maiden drive it will be awesome:steer:

So in we get seatbelts on start the engine put me foot on the brake to release the hand brake and there's a big red light staring at me, :bang: forgot to bleed the bloody brakes:censor::doh:

So out we get and take the 200 series again

I know it might be a little late Spudman, but they offer some of those same style lug nuts in red, I just got in a set for my 88' 4runner. They look pretty cool, The "Grub" is starting to look even Sweeter. :)

Thanks Cody Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

:bang: yeah they would have looked awesome, ah well it's something to look forward to when it's finished :steer:

Thanks mate

I, nice work on grub. Re-assembly is a tedious process for sure.

J

Thanks mate

Yep starting to get anxious and forgetting things:whoops: just gotta slow Dow and get everything right before the first drive:D

Bled the brakes today, those one man brake bleeding kits are incredible, I purchased one from Kingchrome for around $29, only did it once and the brakes are excellent.

I then took it for its maiden drive, very happy, although I didn't put the steering wheel back on with the wheels straight, so I need to do that.

Here's a pic of when I started

And here's the latest pic

So at least now I can drive it, things still to do are rear drawers, intercooler, cut and polish, detail the interior and tighten a fe things up

very nice mate, what a change!

Doesn't even look like the same truck!

Thanks guys, yep it even shocked me when I looked at the 2 photos

I let it sit out in the rain for a couple of hours today to wash all the dust off, so I've still got to do a cut and polish

Very nice work, Spud. I've been keeping up with you're build and you're doing a damn fine job :)

Spudman, that is quite a transformation! Looks like you put him on steroids!

Are you planning to renew the stickers on the sides?

Thanks John, it's been worth it. The only stickers going on the sides are 12HT Turbo Intercooler :D

Thanks mate, for awhile there I never thought I'd see the end result and then wham she's done, thoroughly enjoyed it and all the support :grinpimp:

Awesome rig. Been following this from the start and have to say "good job mate". Slowly working on mine, but now I have diesel envy, ahem, turbo diesel envy.

Wow! The before and after is a HUGE difference. Your truck looks fantastic. I'm so jealous of the 12HT.

^^ agreed I'd love to get my hands on several of these... for future builds and sales alike..

Hey guys

Thanks all for the positive comments  yep it certainly makes more difference when you look under the bonnet and see that 12HT :D

Inspired by reevesci :D I decided to pull all the extra wiring dead wiring that has been put in by the PO and now not working :bang: under the bonnet and under the dash.

The things I ended up ripping out include
Alarm system
Rust preventer - well I know that didn't work:doh:
Some sort of dual battery isolator
Brake controller
Radio suppressor
And a s*** load of wiring:censor:

The only problem after all of this was the dash lights wouldn't come on, but I sorted that pretty easily.

I then secured my centre console and gave the battery terminals a thorough clean as I was having intermittent starting issues, fired up straight away once I cleaned everything.:grinpimp:

Now I gotta go and order a redarc dual battery isolator

Nice work Spud,
I have been following the build & have looked forward to your updates.
The truck looks awesome, you must be proud of your work & how well it came up.

Now you are close to finished what will be your next project so we get our fix?

Regards Pete

Hey Pete

Good to hear from you mate, how's it going.

Yes it's been a lot of hard work and the bank balance has taken a pounding:bang: and the :princess: says enough is enough, so I'll just slowly play around with this one for a while.
