This is my first time reading this thread. I just gotta say, I would pay $5 to see a video of what you describe here
Really nice work on the cruiser, especially the body work!
Damn, i just bought some cheap as shocks to get mine back on the road, hope they work! I know i shouldnt have but just need it up and running for the missus and kids and cash is tight.
That landcruiser graveyard looks inviting, too bad its 3000klm away!
I know ya don't need the advice now, but did you try a hair dryer to remove those decals? And as for welding around windows, gutters etc the steel in house door frames is a good match to weld into 60's, slightly heavier guage but has corner profiles you can easily adjust with a hammer and bar/dolly, but doesnt look like you are short of volunteers anyway.
Hey Paul
Yeah I need the ones that have around 600mm of travel. Yeah it's good having all these 60's lying around, if need something let me know.
I also tried hair dryer, all sorts of adhesive remover, just about everything, I've been cutting the old cars up and using the matching pieces to repair mine.
Thanks mate
Just pop a roobar and tail gate in the mail for me
Come to think of it, send everything in between too!
Seriously though, cheers thanks for the offer, if theres anything easy to post i'll take ya up on that, let me know if theres anything you are having trouble getting sent from down here.
Spud the contacts on those electric window controllers over time kind of build up a bit of corrosion, the contacts are brass, fidley job but you can get them apart and emery cloth them or sand em. Been through it before, fixed a couple of windows that wouldnt co operate.
I fixed mine permanetly, fitted manuals in my sahara. Kept the central lock switch though.
It is time for some picks of your truck upside down in mud, or other pictures of a landcruiser scrapyard
Looks very cool, I hope you corrected steering with the tierods and not by adjusting the steering wheel (that has a dead point that should not be changed)
