Sweet tire carrier. Will the swing down action block your access to the rear bed of the truck?

nice bike. I love those things!!

I can only imagine what that tire looks like thru your rear view mirror!!

nope it actually makes a nice step into the back

I cant see out the back now

im working on a table-im going to get a piece of 4'x4' aluminum or plastic sheet to put on the carrier so that when it is folded down i have a nice table for camping

That looks heavy. I'm just able to get my 40" spare on steelies into the back of the truck

That's a lot of weight back there. Good luck getting the rear end up on ledges. But then again I'm not sure where the ideal place is to mount it. That's a lot of rubber.

carrier probably weighs 50lbs and tire is herniatingly heavy. i can lift the carrier up and latch it all by myself but i am incredibly buff. i hate tire carriers but it opens up the back of the truck to pile in more stuff.

well we wheeled into west lake the first night and my wife and kids and mom-in-law slept over one night. my 3 kids slept in the cruiser and were warm but my wife and me and our baby slept in the tent and got a little cold. the next morn i took all said individuals back to the trailhead where they took my tow vehicle and fled for the cabin. it was a noble experiment but alas i will likely need to wait another 5 years for another attempt at family wheeling.

my and my dad-in-law took my 80 and kept on wheeling. that first night Dan and his 40 and don and his 80 were in our party and they kept on wheeling also. this weekend was the first night that coyote lake was open and we decided to go that way. the begining of the trail was tough and dans 40 was heavily weighted for a trip that included his youg son (who fled with my wife and 3 daughters to the cabin-smart kid). Dans 40 was just too top heavy and he rightly decided to call it a day.

my 80 and Don's 80 continued on to coyote lake. 2/3 the way to coyote we hit red lake and the trail got toughter. Don left his 80 at red and piled in my 80 and we continued on. not 200 yards past red lake we ran into a party of mostly minis and to our surprise the party also contained good friends Justin, Sean, and Deavan. Justin was driving his new mini, sean had his sick tacoma and JUSTINS WIFE was driving the 80 (on 37's). This large party continued on to coyote then headed back to coyote for the night.

my 80 wheeled great. the roof and my gear snaged on all kinds of trees. save the roof racks for expeditions. the tire carrier did great but save tire carriers for expeditions too. in tight steep wheeling 80's are big enough without tires hanging off the back

the slee heavy springs are nice. if the truck is totally empty the j's are better but with passengers and gear and a big spare the heavies were so much nicer. and side hills are much more stable with the heavies

my kind wife gave me her pics too. hardly any of my truck on it...damn

the first pic shows how loaded the 80 was to get all our stuff aboard. and this after i made my 3 daughters leave their barbi collections behind

this is my dad in laws rubicon he baught the week after returning from cruise moab 2009--he obviously loved wheeling and is now hooked----but why a jeep after all i have taught him....

Dusty , we all had a great time look forward to more this summer
Eme (my wife) & Sydney ( my 4 yr old) had a good time mashing our 80.....Good times:steer:

I am shamed that I had too much gear in my rig making me way to top heavy and destroyig my center of gravity. Next time, I need to go through with out my hard top and all the gear to keep my son happy.
