Well another factor is what your wheel backspacing is. If you have 5" or so of backspacing then it counter balances the ifs hub.meh. ive not had any trunion issues with the ifs hubs. run a heavier offset wheel and it's a non issue. death wobble is almost 100% tires or incorrect caster.
almost everything is 4.5 or better these days anyway.Well another factor is what your wheel backspacing is. If you have 5" or so of backspacing then it counter balances the ifs hub.
I think that 19.4 shaft is what I used for mine.I've done some reading on this and understand the reason for widening the short side for keeping spring center distance @ OE specs on a 40 serie. What I don't quite understand is why 2-5/8" was landed on? Is it just the minimum required distance to achieve the goal? Both FJ40 and FJ60 inner passenger shafts are ~17.25" long. Adding a 2-5/8" sleeve means you need an ~19.875" custom inner axle shaft on the passenger side, that length doesn't coincide with any other factory length shaft that I am aware of. Trailgear does offer a +5 inner axle shaft at 19.4375", which I suspect would work just fine, not sure if it was on the market when these sleeves started coming about though.
What made you go with the 25mm rather than the trunion eliminator kit?ARP Studs Check Locktite Check Torqued Check IFS wheel Hubs Check 40 inch Tires Check one thing i do run 25 mm trunions I think i have been through the Rubicon now 6 times with this rig and twice up Fordyce So far so good will report back after this next year
My steering arms are Diamond Keyed arms and they use the 25mm . also my lower caps .What made you go with the 25mm rather than the trunion eliminator kit?

This and it allows you to run 40's with leaf springs and still turn lock to lock without rubbing. Mine has been like that for years .From what I understand the big reason most guys widen just the passenger side is actually to install a FJ60 axle in a 40 without outboarding the springs, but keep the spring perch on the round part of the axle tube. If you think about it just widening the one side will push the diff towards the center of the rig so you don't want to go too far otherwise driveshaft starts to get very crooked
A lot of the old school 40 guys I grew up around run this setup like @Sputnik40
I saw the weight rating for the 25mm. It seems like it's quite a lot better load handling wise.My steering arms are Diamond Keyed arms and they use the 25mm . also my lower caps .
