I'm currently stuck about half way up dickey bell. I put the t-case shifter in low and suddenly couldn't go forward and can't roll back. The shifter is just loose and floppy. Transmission shifter is fine and seems to engage but it feels like something is seized. Any advice? Recommendations for recovery? Offers of rescue?

Are you sure you're actually in LOW and not stuck somewhere between HI and NEUTRAL and LOW? Maybe some forward or reverse motion before trying LOW would help?
No, the t-case shifter feels like it's not attached to anything. Completely loose. The family and I are hitching a ride back to arrow head now. Thank god for good people!
Can't roll at all, no grinding. It's just seized. When I put the tranny in gear it feels like it's trying to pull but is stopped. With everything in neutral it stays stock still. I'm blocking up the left hand path of the trail just before the big rock steps.
Just got back to camp and trying to figure out how to even get it back down the Hill... also, am I gonna get a ticket leaving it there for a while?
This sounds like what John said. I've had the linkage come disconnected on another vehicle before. I ended up having to lay under and manually shift it back into gear.
CAUTION .... If you're halfway up DB you don't want to be under the rig unless you have at least 2 redundant ways of holding it in place! (and having the TC bound up is not one of them)
Yeah, that was definitely on my mind. I don't have adequate recovery gear so I'll probably have to come back with some help to deal with the truck. I've got a friend on the way to take us and the camper back to civilization.
Truck is recovered! When we got back to the trail an old mechanic just happened to be there on an atv wondering what jackass left his landcruiser halfway up the hill. He got the truck back into gear while I did the hard work of keeping my foot on the brake. Best possible outcome... again, thank god for good people!

It was stuck somewhere. If I put the transmission in gear and dropped the clutch it wouldn't stall. I just don't know enough to explain it but it wasn't in neutral (or it would've rolled) and it wasn't in hi or lol or I could've operated the vehicle.
The transfercase shifter came lose between H and L, which is neutral, if that was your symptom. The old man shifted the transfer case into gear for you.
