Hey All. Any chance someone in the Triangle has experience bleeding brakes on a 60 and could come lend a hand? Been trying to get these bled for 2 days and it's kicking my ass. Feel like I'm doing everything right, but hard to decipher 35 images from the FSM. Located in N Raleigh (near Falls Lake). Any help appreciated.

Stand by ... Might have been a s***ty "hand pump" that was supposed to make the job "easy". I'll know more tomorrow.

It doesn't get much simpler than a 60 brake system as far as bleeding goes.

If your hand pump is suspect then just do the two person pump pump hold method. There are no 60 specific tricks to it.

Lspv on the 62 only needs to be bled if you had the whole rear circuit dry, but again, it's just another bleeder.

One tip for the rear drums: Run the adjusters out until the shoes are tight against the drums, then back off three clicks before bleeding. If your adjusters aren't pretty close to their final adjustment, they can be difficult to bleed. This is especially true on older trucks with two cylinders per wheel. Your 62 will only have one. Did you replace the front calipers? If so, make sure the bleeders are at the top of the caliper. If they aren't, you may have your left caliper on your right wheel and vice versa. They'll never bleed that way. Been there, done that. I always use the two person (pump-hold) method.

Hahaha
Good times!!!

Hey guys. I did replace the calipers (edited) and they are at the top. I'm pretty sure it was the hand pump. I was trying to avoid asking the wife to come out into the frigid weather and pump the brakes. LOL

I finally got her out last night and did a little pump-pump action (with the brakes LOL) and got the desired results. I went ahead and bled the LSPV and glad I did. The fluid in there was nasty. Going to bleed all 4 corners one more time before a test drive, just to be sure. Then, I'll give it a road test and see if I die or not.

I'll report back ASAP. Thanks to all for jumping in!

I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of the hand vacuum method with an off the shelf one from an auto parts store. It builds enough pressure to solo the job.

Alright. Let it sit for a couple of days. Went to re-bleed. Everything was good, except for a small bubble in one of the corners. Only did some basic band forth in the driveway, but it feels back to "normal". Thanks for the support guys!
