So the shocks and air springs on my wife's GX are shot. She is very bad about letting me know things and I got in to drive it the other day and I was amazed that she has been driving without a working suspension for GodOnlyKnowsHowLong without noticing. LOL.

I'm on the fence about replacing with OEM stuff or doing a very mild lift. Part of me really wants to get rid of the GX, if I'm honest, it's been a big money pit since we bought it. The other part of me would like to make a mild expedition type vehicle out of it.

What are your recommendations for a nice riding, low additional height, lift kit? Preferably costs less than replacing the OEM parts. Also I think I would like to go up just a bit on tire size, maybe 265/70/17.

If I may ask, why has it been a money pit? Have you been knocking out preventative maintenance items or have the failures been ones that preventative maintenance wouldn't have avoided?

Some of both. Replacing wear items gets expensive at the dealer. I could have done a lot of the work myself, but I had a project Jeep that kept me busy.

My wife would say the real money pit is the Jeep, and she would be right, but I knew that going in whereas I didn't expect it with the GX.

where do you live, I have the stock system off of my 2006, the shocks are in good shape, 2 or 3 where replaced just before I got it, not sure about the air bags? I only bring this up if you want to sell it.
