Hi all,

Is it possible to use helicons in the tapped holes on the block for the screws that hold the timing plate on?

Providing there is enough material for the Heli-Coil. If you lookup the size you need you will find the spec's.

Helicoil is like a slinky, it could work but you will need to use lots of sealant is my guess if it in the cooling jacket' pressure zone, Options:1 make your own threaded bushing inside and out with a flange; 2 just tap it to the next size bolt either metric/sae. Maybe a nutzerk?

I had one on a side cover that was bad. I went up 2 or 3 sizes, screwed in a piece of bolt, peened it in place, then D&T back to origional size.

Timesert/keensert sealed with JB would work better than the helicoil.
