Put new hoses on the recored radiator and the top hose is leaking from the cords in the middle. In addition to this the top hose is hotter that the bottom hose.
Is this difference in temperature normal?

The temp difference is normal. Once your thremostat opens the hot coolant flows throught the upper rad hose into the rad where it is cooled and the lower temp coolant from the bottom of the rad is drawn back into the engine to help regulate the engine temp.
I looks like you have a bad hose. Are there any kinks in the hose? The inner rubber of the hose is allowing coolant to pass though it and the coolant is leaking out along the fiber core. Take the hose back to the store and get a new one.

No kinks in the hose. Bought as a set with the hose clamps.
Just thought this was strange to see it leak from the middle.
Thanks

Are the hose clamps stapled to the hose? I have see the staples cause similar leaks. Sometimes just removing the staple would fix those leaks.

i had something similar on a hose in an old thunderbird i owned. the hose had a split inside that allowed coolant in between the two layers of the hose and it eventually caused a bubble that blocked coolant flow and overheating. it took me a while to figure that one out and i was on a trip to reno when it happened. i did the usual replace belts and hoses before a long trip (they were old anyway )and the upper hose was bad even though it was brand new. take it back to the parts place.

ding ding ding... Check that, take it back, get a different one...

Where'd you buy the hoses?

I bought the hose kit from SOR. I have not called them yet but I’m sure they will make good on it.
I just picked one up from Napa and ordered one from Toyota so I’m covered. Strange how things pan out… We have only had the cruiser off road once and before we went out that time the heater hose started to leak as we were driving down the street. Fast stop to the auto parts store to bypass the heater. This time was going out Saturday for our second trip and the new radiator hose is leaking.

those hose are cheap from toyota. I remember paying 50$ for the 5 specialty hoses for my F. i didn't even know napa had them.

If you have a burr on the end of the thermo housing or radiator housing it could have poked a hole in it. Or if you over tighted the clap and it cut the hose internally. All it takes is a small hole. All the cords interconnect.
