I was really looking forward to seeing everyone today. I took the top off the 40 after lunch. As I was headed that way, I spotted dark clouds and heard thunder. I turned back around not wanting to get soaked. Looking at the radar now, I think I made the right call. I hope Dave's wife will let us come back.

Thanks to everybody who came out today, BUT FIRST... One the way to Dave's, approx 1245pm at the Marathon Gas Station on Matthews Wedding Rd/Antioch Church Rd there was a built white 40 with a dual swing out rear bumper with a white cooler, no top and full hard doors. There was also what looked like a stock, green 80 turning into the same place. I assumed they were someone I hadn't met and were on their way to the HAMOM so I didn't stop to investigate. Neither of them showed up. Any ideas who they were?

Dave's place is great. It was still sunny at 1:00pm, but the driveway was covered in shade. I got there first so was able to pull into the garage bay next to the window unit air conditioner. Hehehehe. We got my tires rotated, caliper bolts torque checked, pads inspected, dizzy O-ring replaced and radiator replaced. Thanks to @lowtops (Brad), @Payara Offroad (Juan), @Roxx (Rafael), and @Izzyandsue (Izzy) for the labor, ideas and my continuing confusion. Also to @roadstr6 (Dave) and his buddy that jumped right in to my mess, saw his part through then went straight into the dirty part of @forrest5000's (Eric) gear oil change.

I don't know what all Eric was getting done on the LX, but I'd wager that he made a good dent on it.

@pkniland picked up and installed his ARB roof rack. The Gamiviti mounts worked perfectly.

I'm not sure what else was done, other than Rafael and Juan speaking Spanish then looking at me and laughing. A lot.

Worst part of the day was the ride home. I somehow managed to clear up the pulling to the right when braking, but now it squeaks when I stop. There is still a thump sometimes when coming to a stop and when starting off again. I'll look into that soon.

Even with the rain, today was a nice break from working on and worrying about the remodel and repairs to my house. Big thanks to Dave and his family for allowing us to take over for an afternoon. I really look forward to the day that I'll have the space to do something like this for the group.

We had a great turnout despite the threatening weather. I walked around at one point and counted trucks. The list goes something like this: Two 40's, one 60, one 62, five 80's, one 100 and a handful of non-Toyota vehicles. I'm glad folks were able to get some things accomplished. As for me, I mostly just drank beer and lent a hand when one was needed. I was was giddy at the sight of ten Land Cruisers in my driveway! Amanda and I enjoyed having everybody over. We will have to do it again soon.

Thanks everyone for the open invitation. Had a great time even though my snorkel is still sitting in the back of my LC. LOL!!

Looking forward to see you again

Looks epic!!! Wish I could have made it :(

Super awesome shop Dave, jeez I'm jealous.

Looks like it was a huge success! Sorry I couldn't make it. Between the weather and some unexpected chores around the house, I ran out of all free time Sunday. I'll see you guys at the next monthly meeting!

Sorry I wasn't there ...but I am suffering through some serious sunburn here in PR..
