I am with Izzy. Nothing I dislike more than working on something covered with dirt or grime that could easily have been cleaned ahead of time with a pressure washer. Working clean keeps me in a good frame of mind.

If my boss "wife and kids" don't have a plan, I'll bring beer and work on snorkel installation and P0401 code.

Hey Dave, I would love to come down and see your place sometime, I always have something on the LC's that needs worked on. Unfortunately Marie and I will be coming back from Hurricane Creek on that Sunday. We may try and stop by on the way home but I think after 2 nights in the woods with no running water or showers, we'll probably have to miss this one.

Dave and I spoke last night to get our ducks in a row.
--He set our window as 1pm to 7ish on Sunday 8/7.
--We'll most likely just order out some food in the late afternoon so have some cash on hand if you want to eat.
--Bring any specialty tools you might need for your job unless you know somebody else will have them.
--I'll bring my 10x10 EZ UP.
-----Somebody else might want to bring one if it's convenient, due to projected 95*F temps.
--Bring water and any other beverages you want.
--I'll get an address to those who are interested in the next few days.

looks like a fun time. Would love to come but will be at HC that weekend. Would have loved to seen Zeke. :(

Zeke's a good dog. He's going to enjoy sliming everyone at the HAMOM. The kids and I weighed him last weekend at Petsmart. 129.4 lbs. He's down three or four pounds. He hasn't been eating much at all in this hot weather. I need to bring him to one of the events. He just takes up so much real estate! I don't know how he'd do in a tent either. Ya'll have fun at HC. We'll miss seing you.

I sent PM's to @kristofferson, @89LandCruiser and @pkniland as well because of their close proximity to my place. Only heard back from kristofferson. He will be coming back from Hurricane Creek that day so he's a maybe. Don't know about the other two. Anybody who wants to come is welcome. Maybe you don't need to do any work on your rig but would like to come have a beer, stand around and point and talk 'cruisers with us? Come on down! The more the merrier. Plenty of room and easy in and out parking for anyone who might want to drop by for only a short while.

@roadstr6 I didn't see a PM come through, I will be up in Mt. Airy in the morning but Id love to swing by in late afternoon if you all are still working.

@Izzyandsue I have a torque wrench but I don't think it goes to 300 ft.lbs. I will check tonight but I seriously doubt it does. I'm almost afraid to ask...which nut are you wanting to check?

No problem. It's the big 30mm nut on the crank, supposed to be torqued to 306 ftlbs. I suspect al previous work done after a few surprises. Not that I would do any better, but at least I can kick my own ass.

I am going to be about an hour late but I just got word that my gutter mounts from Gamiviti will be here tomorrow so I would like to add my roof rack install to the list.

If you want, we can hit it with the impact gun ( if there is enough room). That's what I did with the big crank pulley nut on my 60. It is holding just fine. I did use blue locktite as well.

The crank is keyed so there is almost no way that pulley can just fall off. It could ( in theory) loosen up. That can cause some problems by potentially wobbling and damaging the keyway but I would like to think that it would give you some warning. Getting a true 300 lbs on that nut is all but impossible to do. It's just so damn hard to hold back the crank with opposing force.

Easy! Knock the end off an old spark plug, screw in a zerk, and pack one of the cylinders with grease. Tadahhh! :hillbilly:

Hmmmm. I guess that's one way to do it. Damn! I bet the smoke afterwards is a sight to behold. Anybody worried about Zika should go hang around in Rice's driveway. No skeeters there at all!

Seriously though, that is a pretty neat solution.
