k, so another installment of the never ending cruiser.

so i got the cage welded up, minus the gussets, which i need your guy's help figguring out which tube would be critical, and which ones aint gonna be nessasary.

trying to mock up my seats. any ideas on what i can do to mount? i was thinking of making a cross bar, like i did, then welding arms back to run along the seat frames, kinda like this: |_|___|_| ?

Halo, Didn't you cut that hole out underneath the passenger seat way back on the first page for a reason?:bounce: Awsome thread, Keep the pics comming.

yea, but NOW i think the cage bars are gonna get in the way....

ok ok fine twist my arm.

anyone got a plastic one?

or i was thinking of ditching that chunk, and putting it on the fender or something....hell i dunno

ya i got one, ill bring it over some time and we can make a deal

ok so like i found this joint in houston called "Adco Power Steering Products, INC". these guys were SUPER friendly and helpfull, when it came to my problem of sourcing a power steering box. they can port boxes for hydro assist, rebuild, and modify power steering boxes. they also can rebuild and port/pressure adjust power steering pumps. these guys are gonna get my business. i had them build me a 3 1/2 turn box, with the big piston setup, for 149 plus a 25 dollar core. yea its a few dollars more than at autozone or Napa, but this guy has been doing this for 30 years, so i think i can trust him .:D

he also has a power steering pump that im gonna try from him. its the size of a baseball. supposed to be bad ass, 60 bucks. he said he can get 16-1800 psi and 5 1/2 GPM out of it.

his number is 713-681-1446 if anyone is needing power steering assistance. (excuse the pun :flipoff2:)

Thank you for the heads-up on the PS company!

If that front cross bar for the seat mount is not burnt all the way( and even if it is) I would look at using some 1" and making a cradle system for your seats...I would not have one part of the seat attached to the cage, and another to the tub...

This is what I have going in a 1962 FST 40 series...

ok so like, i got the power steering box, and a pitman arm for the damn garage-taker-upper. im gonna try to install it on this weekend.

anyone got any ideas on how to attatch my steering shaft (3/4'' steering shaft stock) to the ragjoint coupler on the steering box?

no one? fine. ill figgure it out myself then :flipoff2:

got the passenger side slider mounted and installed. it came out WAY nicer than my freakin driver side. i think cause i had no light on the drivers side, i had crappier welds, and it was the first one.... kinda like pancakes, you always fook up the first one..lol

looking at my steering box, im going to have to do some major cuttin to the front crossmember...

Loose the rag joint coupler on the steering gear. If you do not do it now, it will fail on you at the most inopportune time, and create all sorts of drama for you. I had some conveyor belting in the 40 at one time, and was able to help Tupp out when his tore to s*** while in the Black Hills a few years back. Get a flaming river shaft, or make your own using Spicer components.

I would not run a rag joint on anything that I am going to expect more than stock performance from.

Good luck!

what do i use for a slipshaft? im looking at one of those borgeson u joints for the steering box couplers, i havent decided if im going to need an additional one in the middle of the shaft or not, so ill try to mount the box this weekend, and see what the steering shaft is gonna look like.
