My latest restoration is a 1982 FJ40 with 90k miles. I normally go with Old Man Emu 2 1/2 suspension which this one also has. My question is it rides a lot better than any restoration I have done. The only difference is it has new 16 inch powder coated wheels from Cruiser Outfitters with Yokohama Geolander AT’s 235/85/16 tires.
Does that wheel / tire combination what makes the ride so smooth?

Thanks!

With LT-rated tires, it should ride like crap, but they have a tall sidewall and presumably you don't have 80 PSI in them. What pressure are you running?
