Now I'm following you. You're going through a whole of work, for this 80 axle. What's you're main reasons in useing it. Elocker, etc.

Are they that much stronger than a 60 axle. I give you credit, taking on big jobs with the wagon. I always like to see what you come up with next. :)

the 80 axle is a full floater, so the weight of the rig is on the bearings on the hubs, not the axle shafts. this eliminates the bending of shafts, but with the Elocker, presents the possibility of a twisted shaft, which requires cutting thru the housing in order to cut the shaft in order to bring out the third in order to replace said shaft:meh: as long as I'm not jumping the truck full throttle with 35 or bigger tires while locked, I should be ok. it also gives me factory rear disk brakes and an e brake.....I was going for the e brake, everything else is just a bonus

It's all trade offs, more often then not the stub breaks off when you break a SF and you're in a similar bad place w/o being able to move the truck ;). How much wider are you than stock?

I took 3.2" off of the short side. it should be about 59 3/4" WMS to WMS. with the 295s on the taco?tundra rims brings it too about 3/4" narrower than stock with the 12.50 33s. BUT the track is wider by almost 4";). with 1 1/2" spacers up front, I'm about 1/4" wider track up front. still about the same outer width. I'm happy so far. time for responsibilities:censor: I'll have to pick it back up later....

:bounce:skid marks behind all four tires...and i KNOW the fronts are hittin first. there is so much less pedal that I HAVE to run it in 4 on jack stands just to make sure all 4 points are releasing when I let up on the pedal:cool: no untold noises or anything else to set off alarms just yet. I think I'm going to need to upgrade the rear spring rate a bit tho as after the swap, there seems to be more sway even tho the track is wider. I can feel the slight diff in tire size as well. I don't want to have to regear, so when these 295s wear some more, I may consider some 285s or maybe some 255/85s. maybe the overdrive will make up for it:meh: I'm going to have to keep an eye on the aftermarket axle shaft as the cone washers weren't perfect:doh:

feel free to laugh, but it'll hafta do

I like it! I think you did a great job turning the wagon into a cool work truck. Keep it going. That electric locker looks scary.

fitz-I kinda see a bobbed LCHamma sorta rig with what you've got. but you could go a few different directions and still be golden. I still say to fab a ute gate/step bumper
Pablo, thank you;)
now here it is with the rims fixed...

well, I've been hammering the rear end as much as I can. intentionally taking the lines that would have the right rear wheel hit the obstacle with blatant disregard. It started with the new dirt road I take to the newest jobsite- 10 miles of cattle ranch back mountain....road? each way. I just give it gas and go. had both the right and left sides go a sliding while spinnin around the hairpin wash boards. even hit a few bumps (i might not have) that I didn;t see coming. also got a couple few hundred miles of average mountain paved roads, a little bit of highway and even some 70 MPH freeway time on the rear axle. I think I'll need to have rear drive shaft work done as it is now a tad short, but other than that, it's been working great. I may even get to lock the rear this morning as we got some MUD between me and the work

Lambcrusher,

Great pictures.

Everybody here, has a camping wagon, rockcrawler, resto wagon. You have got to be the only one with a flatbed work wagon! I love it. Conduit, no problem, strap it on the back.

Good Job!
