shortened my spare e brake cable for the ol 55 series tcase brake by twisting the crimp end off of the drum end, cut the sheath to length, strip the out sheath jacket and re thread crimp end onto cable housing coils. as gunna make a splice bracket, but found suitable spots under the rig to do what the bracket would have.....I compromised. Had to cut the end off of the 55 cable and used u-clamp splice for now. I had one tiller splice which I used to take up the slack on the passenger side fzj80 brake cable(due to shortened housing)I will get 2 or 3 more tillers to replace the u clamps with, and then cover the whole cable splice joint in a rubber bellows thingy similar to a shock absorber booty that I still need to look for...the point is, I have an e brake.....
but it's difficult to carry all my gear and provide the same service I can with an actual TRUCK. It was quite depressing, but I haven't got time for that, and the realization that there is going to be a fresh compressor under the hood is slowly taking over
I just know that as soon as I get the PIG wrapped, the 60-2s gunna start bitchin
might think about just dropping the burnt 2F short block at the machine and have it done right away, just to keep that old 3FE happy for a while longer. then when it goes, I'll only have to have the valve job done, and then I'll have a stroked FJ62. It'll be nice to look back on these things
