Why are people cutting up their great shape dashes to install this useless grab bar? In the same amount of time you could do somthing usefull like a new PHH or H4 bulbs.

Why would someone put in an H4 bulb, when they could put in an HIR? Why would someone paint their wheels black? Why would someone...

Ok, thanks guys. I never read that it went into metal, I just thought it was plastic. I'm sure it is plenty sturdy then. Hope to get one some day.

Contact Mot. He put a group buy together a couple of years ago.

I installed one on my 94 a couple months ago. I'm really happy with the way it looks. The support seems very sturdy, but perhaps not indestructable. As far as I could tell, the support it bolts into is plastic and not metal. Call Mot, he can get one for you for around $60 IIRC.

Thanks guys!:crybaby:

Yes, I can still get them (I still might have a couple:grinpimp:)

It will be supplied with the special nut/washer thingies that it needs, too! ;)

Mot :)

Old thread but I finally got the grab bar in. I followed the directions as well as some of the earlier suggestions and removed the vent, glove box switch, and loosened the ECU and the duct went in and out very easy.

The left side nut was a bit of a problem for a guy that will never have a career as a proctologist. However, using a 10mm ratcheting wrench and realizing that the duct on that side is somewhat flexible allowed me to get back there and tighten the nut down.

I've just sent another tan grab bar out for the '95-'97 LC80.

Not trying to scare you off, but if anybody has been sitting on the fence to do this mod you might want to consider getting it done before the grab bars become discontinued like some other parts for our beloved 80's. :hillbilly:

Thanks, Cary, for your patience and understanding.

Hope you'll be happy with it!!

I hate to bring up an old thread ....but does anybody know if these are still available? Any help would be appreciated!

PM Mot to see if hes still got some left .

I might have one or two in Utah, but not exactly sure what color or for what years.

I will be there this weekend so I can check if anyone's interested.

These make great cup holders (in the older style dash, at least). Easy to install, too, if your dash is out for a heater core replacement, say...

Mike,

Remove your cell number and your e-mail addy just in case there might be a nut job calling you or sending spam mails or something! ;)

I will check when I get home this weekend and report back either here or via PM!

Thanks!!
