Not a chance you go in there and not jump down your favorite rabbit hole😬

Reading back though this to find out some info on these 4Runner calipers and what do I see? Another Whitey call-out-come-true

Took a break and when I came back I did not have a lot of fight left in me. I did roll the axle out and installed the tires. Hopefully the roll under trick will work back there too. May not.

Impressed this disc brake kit came with full brake lines.

I know you know this but you’re going to be so happy with the discs.

One of the best mods ever for these old trucks.

I was looking at side photos of my LPB and it seems the rear axle/tire is more centered than the SWB. I ended up having to move the SWB back a notch

The 4 plus fit kit comes with the ability to move it back 1”

What say y’all ??

I moved the axle back on our SWB 1”. Waaaaay betta.

yeah. I read that on your thread then did not do it and had to redo it.
That said the LPB sits more in the center stock than the SWB

...a survivor. An original. Unmolested.

GOAT.

:meh:

These rear packs are dumb heavy and huge.

I pulled 3 leafs out and left enough center pin to add one back as needed

Also got the pinion seals replaced. Now to wrestle this guy under the Goat

I love it!

Would you please let us/me know what springs and shocks you are using?

Fronts are regular light 40 series springs.

OME only sells one rear pack for the 45.

One thing OME does not sell are the rear fixed spring pins. These are hard to get out without destroying them so I had to go to *gulp* SOR for these.

youll be going back for round 2 of neck surgery if you keep this up..

Man. I really can’t tell you how much the lift helped this process. Lowered it. Attached the fixed end. Raised it. Rolled the axle in. Lowered it. Attached the shackles and picked it up and the axle was on the springs.

Boom.

I misplaced my 4* steel shims and some other Brake line goodies from @orangefj45 so I made the executive decision to go back with stock height shackles on the front. Angle looks great.

I really like the beefy OEM rear shackles so I reused them as well.

As you can see, Even with 3 leafs out of each side the truck still has a nice rake. I should be able to load it up and it not squat very bad. I’ll see once firewood season arrives.

I will be adding a Warren Wench and a stockish looking bumper after the motor swap but the rest of outside the Goat will look just like it did except it will be a few inches taller.

The ole F135 will come out this weekend. That’s when things will slow back down to spend some time under the hood stripping out all the old linkage and running brake lines.

We spent most of the day working on the SWB but then decided to snatch the motor tonight at the last minute. Why not, right?

I’ve got a college kid staying with me this summer and he loves to wrench so we busted the radiator out and set the engine hoist up and damn......

It just would not lift right. My 6’ tall son came out and provided some ballast and we finally got it out after 2 long hours.

When we finally got it out I went to fold it back up and The torque side pin was not put in. AmazinG it came out at all
