Spent most of the day on Rotunda 45 but did manage to get the Goat back into the shop for a good Fluid Film rubdown.

I've really enjoyed the pics of your trucks here.
Forgive me if I missed it in the thread but what size tires are those? Were you able to keep the oem rims with the disc conversion?
Thanks.

No. I use City Racer 16’s with 255/85-16s in lifted 40’s. It’s my favorite setup.

If you want to run discs and 15’s Toyota still sells the wheels that work for about $120 each

Time to clean this up and get the frame treated and some lizard skin going.

Way way back at the beginning of this thread I spent many hours on my back under this truck chipping years of Arizona desert out of the frame.

I was really only able to get about 3/4 of it done because of the exhaust and engine.

Now I get to pay the piper and finish the job

The interior is on me though. It’s been very clean before. I kinda trashed it using it as a farm truck

It only needed a clutch 🤦‍♂️

1/3 of a large Shop Vac and about as that on the floor. Not sure how it’s possible to have that much s*** in a frame.

I enjoy this job much more when I’m charging for it 😬

Going back to my proven formula......The underside of the cab and the tranny bump are getting prepped for a coat of Lizard Skin. Anyone that owns one of these tin cans knows that every bit of sound and heat deadening helps.

I did a poor job pressure washing it so I had to get a few spots. I wish I had put a drain in the shop but since I scraped 98% of it off already I did not have a lot of water to sweep out.

Zepp Purple is some wicked stuff. The tranny hump was a solid level of grease and it cut it right off

A little more prep and I’ll be ready to spray

In that picture of your tranny bump,... is that YET ANOTHER OEM box in the background ?

Reminds me of my high school hot rod, clutch bell crank broke, decided to change out the high performance break your left leg pressure plate, which led to an engine rebuild!( and that was when money did not exist!) something about installing fresh parts on a greasy engine that just didn’t feel right! Well that and high compression pistons, big solid cam, Holley double pumper and some headers!!! Not sure how I paid for it! But I do still have it 32 years later..

Looks like you’re not doing the firewall though, right? I think I’ll try this stuff on my 45 while empty waiting on the “new” drivetrain.

when I did the Warthog I took everything off the firewall, Lizard skinned it then painted it back Cygnus white.

On this one I’m not wanting to paint under the hood so I’m just doing the lower part where the heat really comes from.

Edit...I’ll be cleaning the firewall

Sounds like a product that deadens the sound & reduces some of the heat....huh ?

We used this stuff....cannot recall the name of it, for insulation and heat reflection. It came in a roll and was adhesive with a peel off backing. Seems to work good...
