I love the originality of this truck.... I am kinda of sad you are planning all of these reasonable upgrades.

Yeah. I was and then I’m over it.

Parts collecting continues....getting close to starting all this.

Anyone have any spare clips that that hold the throw out bearing to the arm?

It will be a 2F with steel arm v the cast F arm. Not sure if that matters.

I’ll tell you what I did that I regret. Spending all the time and money rebuilding the drum brakes. I should have swapped all this over at the beginning.

Live and learn. I was overcome with the originality that went against drivability.

And my Can for example with drumbrakes ... was, is not driveable ?

Lots of people around the globe drive their old drumbrake cars/ trucks and they are all driveable !
Circled, circle the globe with Drumbrake- Cars....curious, curious
In which radius do you circle?
Put the Zapp family in for you ... And a link more "living on the road " with...Hanomag
10 years in the Hanomag .. 25 different countries.
Just an example with drums all around.
Water crossing. After that you will notice some loss in braking or no braking until the water runs out of the drums.

You have to brake them dry.
Can also happen after intensive cleaning the underside with a water spray gun.. take care!

Continue driving slow with your left foot on the brake pedal and the right on the accelerator pedal for a while until they are dry.. absolute important.

Oh Lord ... sorry.....you have nothing learned !
All the prevoious owners of your car lived and braked with drums and it worked all year long (who did the service )..strange.

Back to the Can.
Last year they changed Can´s brake fluid. After that they had some trouble with the brakes can happen if you do it the first time.
I got a mail, wrote back, explained a bit, they thanked. After that all was ok with the brakes ... driveable... driveable..

And my business is ... No not a blue collar business... I´m still in the white collar finance business.

Saturday July18, 2020 The Red Can ( don´t know if you have seen the pic) .... driveable. :)

My drum brakes were actually good but I regret the time as well as the money I spent on them. I think I spent about $1000 on materials to completely rebuild them. I’ll keep these axles to the side in case I need to rehab another E-67 truck

I drug the Goat out of hiding this am and gave it the first bath of 2020. Washing the nasty off for a family photo and a position in the shop

the throwout bearing clips are like 30 cents. Or you could make some using paper clips

...a family photo of machinery...a pack !

Neat picture! I like the fact that you don’t have duplicates. Missing an LV!

Front went in pretty easily. One thing the lift allows you to do is install the fixed end of the spring. Roll the axle in place. Attach shackle and lift it up and then bolt it up. Solo install 6 weeks after neck surgery. Not gonna mess that up.

One thing I did not foresee before I got the axle in place. The PIG axle I used to build out the front has the upper pads and in order to use the @lcwizard 4Plus flip kit I had to cut all that off. Wish I had thought of it before the axle was in. All good now. The passenger side just needed some grinding versus the drivers side being totally cut off and ground smooth
