I figured you might have had some more fresh snow. We had brief snow in ABQ. Came down nice for awhile. Now all gone.

Saw this sweet Beetle as I was heading down from snowshoeing. The nice gentleman says he's the 3rd owner, and gave himself this car as a bday present four years ago. - 10K trailhead

Got a bit over here in FLG AZ, and my neighbor in Taos says a few inches on the ground there. Sunny today.

I was heading up to go snowshoeing today and came upon this scene. This car lost control on the way down and smacked the guardrail pretty hard. This switchback was very icy. The poor car lost all ability to drive, because the front transaxle was damaged severely. Also the front passenger rim lost a chunk and the tire was going flat pretty fast. A quick winching session move the car out of harm's way so that other people didn't end up hitting it coming down the mountain.

It was pure Nirvana up top, with a minimum of 2 in to 10 inches of fresh powder. 👍🏾

You are pretty close, but that is not the corner I have pulled people out before. Surprisingly, this is the first corner that everyone has to hit before the actual climb up to the mountain. It was surprisingly icy for its elevation . Thankfully that corner has a decent shoulder for dead vehicles 😁.

Here's something funny that you will get a chuckle out of. After the car was pulled out of harm's Way, I suggested to the driver that we go pick up all the broken pieces that are on the other side on the guardrail. He looked at me like I had two heads 😁. So we walked over there, and I kept handing him all the bits and pieces of his car. He must have hauled them all out of there yesterday, because I was up there again this morning and I didn't see any remnants of a black car.

That poor car was fubar. The front passenger wheel was stuck to one side, and all the fender bits were jammed into the wheel well, and I have no idea how the front transaxle handles that collision. The engine ran though, but he could not turn the wheels, or move the car into drive or reverse. So basically the wheels were locked up, would have been awesome to see how that tow truck guy handled that.

It was pretty good up there today, about 4 inches of fresh powder on the parking lot, and about 12 in on the mountain. As I was heading back down the mountain, I passed a lot of vehicles that are going to have some hard times 😁. I came back to a parking lot full of cars parked next to me! I think tomorrow I'm going to set up a camp chair at one of the switchbacks and enjoy the show.

Time to plant the garden!
Haha. We don't plant anything around here until the weekend after Mother's day. That has only failed one time. In 2020 the last freeze was June 6.

She may not be the prettiest gal at the dance, but she's a guaranteed sure thing. Got me to Edgewood and home and helped get some people out of the ditch who weren't prepared at all for the cold.

There are a lot of people living out here that just have little cars and try to drive in this kind of weather. I don't get it.

Got home couple of hours ago from snowshoeing up top and it was absolutely heavenly. I did have to put the chains on heading back down just in case others needed to be extricated but all clean. They kept the highway open as of 11:00 a.m. earlier today.
