The fresh snow was off the hook this morning. Had to chain up so I can make it all the way to the usual Ellis trailhead for snowshoeing

Looks like it’ll hit again… considering blowing off everything I should do Sunday and get out 🤔

Holy schmoly, it snowed 4" at my house overnight. Gonna have to chain up again this morning to go snowshoeing. :bounce:

Geez, send it my way. I'm tired of all these weather forecasts predicting weather gloom and doom and getting nothing.

Some videos for your amusement:

driving through 1' - 2' of snow drifts on the crest hwy yesterday:

Luka putting himself into 4low and engaging the lockers to climb back up to the main trail!!

no chains yesterday since I wasn't the first one making tracks. I followed the tracks of some commercial rigs working at the antenna farm up top. Additionally, the snow is uber dry and fluffy so traction was decent.

We were the first ones who made it to the Ellis trailhead for some snowshoeing action. It was a great time that ended with good food at Ribs restaurant at Cedar Crest. The Crest hwy had almost 12" and the trails had 12"+ of fresh powder.

We got a few inches on the mountain two nights ago? Anyway, we are supposed to get the storm of the century tomorrow morning thru Friday. I don’t trust the forecasters. 🤨

Weather forecaster is one of two job where you can be wrong most of the time and keep your job. I can't remember the other. Economist?

I went to the Jemez last Monday during the snowstorm and had a blast. Just last night I got 10" at the house, which means Luka and I are going snowshoeing to Sandia this morning. I might be late for work today ;) . The Landcruiser is down due to the front axle housing sitting in the garage so I'll have to chain up the 4runner at the house before heading up top.

I met two couples at the hot springs. One of them camped in a beautiful Sprinter 4x4 van, the other one showed up Mon morning in a Mitsu Delica. First couple is American and beep bopping around the SW for couple of months. Delica couple are from Latin or South America and they've been beep bopping between the Americas. I kept hearing of vehicle breakdowns, border crossings, and all that.

It's always a good time at the hot springs and I never know who I'll be meeting there. Luka will just sit in the water with me and soak:bounce2:. He's an interesting dog, to say the least.

Oh man, I got DENIED, DENIED my snowshoeing today :bang: . After spending close to 45min installing the rear tire chains at the house, I had to pull out a visitor's car out of the ditch. So, i turned around, headed home, de-chained and went into work.

Tomorrow it's GAME ON biotches. :hillbilly::flipoff2:
