Wow, these look really well done. I'm on my first cup of coffee so excuse my brain fog, but how do you achieve tidy wiring of the accessories up there? During install, and removing the stock speaker plate, you thread your power up through that exposed section?

Yes, theres a lot of room in that opening to run wires down through the center stack.

Yeah, you could almost park a bus in that space - there really is a lot of room to work with there.

How hard would it be to fish wires down to the kick panel area? Does the head unit need to be removed?

If you want access to fish wires, you'll probably want to remove the screen to make things easier. You may find this video helpful:

Much appreciated!

Looks great! Any idea when the track hole pattern will be integrated into the mount?
Already is, at least for the Amazon version. They don't have that one on their website, but have several others and those seem to have a different hole pattern to them. I'm not sure it's possible to predict every hole pattern from all these Ram mounts, you may just need to add a hole or 2 to make one work, even as I refine the hole patterns.

re: getting wires up there. I found it's pretty easy to remove both of the passenger side pads (The bottom one just rips off, the vertical one has 1 10mm bolt and 1 plastic push connector). Then there's a hole below the air vent you can use as a midway point. Remove the center speaker (2 bolts, 1 wire connector) and you can get your whole hand back behind the nav, easily enough wiggle room to pass yourself a wire. So you feed wires up from the bottom above the passenger foot well, get them to stick out that hole below the air vent, then pass them from the air vent hole to the upper dash. I'll do a video on this.

You had mentioned needing to drill some extra holes for the YakAttack in the earliest version. I’m assuming why the question was asked about when the holes will be pre-drilled. I was wondering the same.

I added some holes in the design for this mount. It will be in the next launch of this, probably 4 weeks:
Amazon product ASIN B078PRJR45
but that is only one of several options they offer, which might be a better solution for someone. see here:

As you can see there are multiple, and they all appear to have different bolt patterns. Then the brand name RAM tracks are also different. So futile to attempt to hit them all, will make a good effort here but there's always a chance you will add a hole to make whatever have work, or put in a different location, etc.

Talk about crazy fast delivery; ordered a dash mount accessory panel late Friday afternoon after seeing this post and it just got delivered. Dropped it off to get powdercoated and should have it back tomorrow afternoon

That's nuts because I ordered something from Colorado that shipped out last Wednesday and it still hasn't left the state. Then again, I am that guy that somehow always has packages delayed or lost in transit lol. I am very tempted by this plate even though I really only need a place for my phone and I already have that covered.

TBH it's only going to be a phone mount for me for the immediate future, but I love the idea of putting a charging port up there eventually. There are a number of things I could put up there (Garmin inReach, mount for handheld GMRS, etc); I just need to find a balance of utility vs clutter

Awesome! You just happened to order when I was shipping some other things, so I was in a good spot to get it out that same day.. the mail truck picked up like 5 minutes after you ordered. Can't wait to see this once it's powder coated, very sweet!

I run my inReach Mini on the clip-in cradle mount in the RAM so I could do the same in the LC as well, but for now I am going to run what I have and possibly pick one of these up in the future.

Powder coating was definitely the way to go, though it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet now. Unfortunately my YakAttack track won’t be here until Thursday so this will sit on the shelf until the end of the week

I realize it would increase the cost, but I'd love to see finished corners rather than just bending the edges up and leaving small gaps. That was something I noticed in the pictures of the initial prototype and hoped wouldn't be in the shipping version. Not a complete deal breaker, but it would definitely make for a more polished end result.

The powder coating looks great!

Agreed, I'd be willing to pay more for finished out corners as well.

@HSTexan that looks really pretty! Also looks like they dropped it.. that back left corner is bent in now. If you put a rag inside the jaws of your pliers you should be able to bend that back out, without damaging the coating too much. At least it's on the side next to the windshield, so you'll never see it.

And you guys want those front 2 corners welded? I worry it'll look worse than not welding it, also not necessary structurally, also it is easier to install when you can mainpulate those walls somewhat independently. Maybe you could stick a little edge protector over it. I can see about welding one of the next ones though, we'll see if it looks any better or worse.

And I shot the install video today, so will take me a bit to get through editing but should have that done shortly.

Great instructional video - for the tech tips alone! Drilling on a block of wood to reduce blowout, needle nose pliers to open a grommet, wire fishing tips, using a drift with a backing block to bend tabs. Pure gold. Thanks for posting this.
