Yes, several people. In fact we probably sell as many tower sets as we do rack packages... and it's unlikely all those people are building racks, most are just running cross bars. Also yes if you ran 4 cross bars it'd be a pretty solid setup. Personally I'd just do a rack, as once you add up all the parts to cobble a cross bar system together you're likely halfway there anyway... then you get the added benefits that come with having a rack. Of course I also make/sell racks so a little bias there.Do you know of anyone who is running just the towers/crossbars for a RTT mount? I'm thinking that may be as close to a direct mount RTT kit as I can get. Certainly utilizing all four towers on each side/crossbars would provide a stable and strong enough platform?
Thank you for the info! Coming clean I actually have a Front Runner mounted up right now which is very tall with the tent mounted. I've been exploring ways to get the lowest profile tent mount in hopes of being able to fit in the garage with it mounted. It uses it's own proprietary crossbars which would easily work with your towers. Need to get a few things put on suspension-wise still so I can know final height to see how much room I've got to work with, but I'd love to be able to throw a hoist in the garage and have the ability to swap between the tent and a minimalist rack from you.Yes, several people. But the thing I'm most excited about today is a new one I swear you haven't seen before... hope you're sitting down. ok j/k. It's a replacement speaker screen for your upper dashboard insert on the 2016+ Land Cruisers... no cutting, welding, you just pop off the panel, remove the screen, then add this new sheet metal bezel in its place. I made 3 different versions of the front plastic part, the one shown is with 5 round holes for 12v outlets, etc. #2 has 2 round and 4 rectangular openings, and #3 has 2 round and a big rectangular opening in the middle that will fit a Switchpro. You can also run 5 holes without the plastic in front, as the steel also has that 5-hole pattern (which you'd trim to run a different one).
On my rig, I put that Garmin there just for looks, that'll most likely move to the right side, and on the left will be my Ham Radio faceplate. I'm just waiting on a few more Ram parts for that one. The USB/volt meter on the left is from the primary battery, the one on the right is the 2nd battery, the 12v sockets are split also. And that center switch kills them all.
The top of the part also has a ton of holes for bolting up additional Ram mounts, also a couple bigger holes for grommets & cables, holes for the speaker, and another hole for the headlight light sensor. I'm pretty good and putting holes through sheet metal in CAD.But hey pics are always fun, so here's what that looks like on the screen:

So I'm curious if there's much interest in these? Or if anyone wants to try one out? Or if there are any other objects you wish you could stick onto the top of your dash, which would be appropriate here. Thank you all for your continued support, and I appreciate all the comments. -tim
I’m running his towers and only three crossbars under the largest CVT and it’s plenty secure even on rough off-road tracks. His towers are stoutDo you know of anyone who is running just the towers/crossbars for a RTT mount? I'm thinking that may be as close to a direct mount RTT kit as I can get. I guess I should check Mud more oftenCant for the 13-15 version

Update: I received the first prototype of the lower model, already made some changes to improve it but so far I am digging it. Here are some installed pics:

I am going to make it a little bit taller, like 1/4" taller so that there's a little more clearance below for nuts & wires, as this one is a little tight. But it totally works, feels solid, I'm liking it. I also spent a little time working on a web page, including some installation instructions, links to the various mounts, etc. Dashboard Accessory Mounts — Gamiviti - https://www.gamiviti.com/dashboard-accessory-mounts
I've got these low ones in production now, for both the 2008-2015 crew as well as 2016-2022. I hope to have stock in a matter of weeks here, it shouldn't be too much longer. Excited to see this happening here.
